Crashing and Lagging with Open Character Sheet

Does anyone else experience a lag spike and/or crash after closing their character sheet?

I am up to date for Sundren, and don't have anything in the override folder, either. Could it be related to custom portraits? Granted, I'm not using one.

Any ideas?

Sounds more like a corrupt character.

I just made brand new PC. First, I deleted every PC under my username. Then, I picked a name that was unused, "Carradoc".

The same issue is still happening--could it be a .tlk issue? I have the sundren.tlk in my TLK folder, and have updated as recently as today.

Dang. I've really wanted to give Sundren a second try, but I haven't been able to play with this character sheet issue.

Many of us are experiencing this lag when interacting with a character sheet. This includes opening it, leveling up, or examining someone, from my experience.

I find if you play more than one peron. The first one you start playing with is the one that laggs then once you loog to you other one and then go back it is fine.

I can verify that. The same happens for my characters one time out of three. Relogging, even on the same character, fixes it.

Just for the record I'm getting the lag too. Its pretty nasty and it makes nwn2 crash sometimes after opening a character sheet... atleast for me. I'm sure the staff is on top of it, thanks all!

There's nothing to be "on top" of. It's a character sheet, we haven't changed it. That's like trying to repair a bunker in fort knox, I certainly can't do it. It's out of my hands.

I'm sure someone will say "But it doesn't happen on another server!" well... I guess they have magic fairy dust under the hood.

I'm wondering if the custom skills impact the character sheet loading?

There have been custom skills for quite awhile, and even if they did affect the sheet that's Obsidians fault.

It is intermittent also. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. I was able to reproduce this 6 times in a row. I opened char sheet, did something IG and... lag - crash - relog. The 7th time I did not crash, and once I closed the sheet I never opened it again.
I did not experience this in the SoZ campaign, nor, before the update to SoZ on Sundren. Maybe something that changed in SoZ has affected something in Sudren that was never an issue before? (Just my 2 cents...which is worth about .5 cents these days)

Makes sense to me. It worked fine before SoZ, now quirky. Using the custom gui had ZERO affect on the lag.

I think its a SoZ thing and hopefully the release a fix for it. (obsidian).

anyone look at the SoZ forums? perhaps its a known issue?

The problem is particularly bad on the DM client. Examining another character's sheet is a certain way to instantly lag-crash, though as it's been said before, it's not server lag, nobody else experiences it, just the DM in question, and only a relog can get you back in the game. This is very frustrating trying to run events blind.

I've asked a few people who did have custom skills to make use of inspire competence to boost them with their character sheet open, and opening and closing and recasting a couple of times. They didn't have any problems with it whatsoever.

If it was related to custom skills, I'd have thought they would at least have noticed something. As far as I'm concerned it's still completely random who gets struck by these lag bombs.
