... where are you all? I may not be on at all the busy times, but I haven't seen one of you online in a very long time...

Who's there, and active? There is only so much one can do without a Godlike being to guide one and provide new openings

An update from my side. I finally got my PC together, all though probably the most unstable things ever, it works and as I type this I'm in the process of getting all the NWN2 patches and then I'll move on to the huge task of the Sundren files. I may see you today if I can get it all downloaded, or possibly tomorrow depending on if I can make my CPU work tonight at full power as my BIOS continually tells me I need to.

I'm GMT in case you were wondering too

Only one DM reply so far.... (but WELCOME BACK DUNE! )

One other reason, and I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but beyond level 15 there is NO other way to advance than DM help. No quests, no XP from kills, no ticker. I probably speak for others as well, but when there is no prospect of even a token reward from any IC risk you take... and you can only RP out IC drama to a certain extent... there comes a time when you just don't feel like you're making a difference in the world.

Plots left open indefinitely are also a downer. I know it happens to the best, but that does not make it less true.

Sorry, I have to bring this up, but I think I'm not the only one who feels this mild frustration, so I thought it should be addressed. I know you can probably tell me to grow up and bear it, and rightly so. But a game is about fun. And this server is too good to be abandoned because there are too few DMs.

            We need DM presence. Please!

            *end whine*

The life of a DM is a tough one. Much like us PC's they have their own private schedules in real life to tend to. Of course, coming from Verrath, we know a post like this is meant with the best intentions, and I agree with her completely when I saw I miss you dms too.

Maybe a few people should consider applying for the role.

Until then, perhaps something in the lines of a player-run event could be produced. I plan to 'tone down' Zem a bit and maybe get something like that going with my minions.

I'm only really around on the forums for now. RL has caught me up.

Yes, we could use more DM applicants, but Saulus will still apply good judgement in picking them. We've had some really great players offer to help, but the feeling is, they might not make good DMs.

Dming can be alot of fun if you have respectful players and get a good understanding of the tools. The sad thing is dming can also be an exploit or a game ruiner if you get a crappy one.

I can see folks calling for dms to "HEY LOOK AT ME DANCE I NEED XPS!". Or bothering them when logged in as a charactor. Perhaps xp for stories but then again a request for folks to do MORE work when already wanting a break.

Best option mentioned so far is if you want more dms....APPLY to be one.

I would definitely apply.... IF I was remotely convinced I was qualified.

What about Fezzik, Loller, or Dar'cane? I would suggest a few others, but they already told me they could not do it lol.

Dar'kane moved to Baulders gate and is a DM there, my understanding was he was turned down here. Loller is away at the moment anyway. I'm pretty sure I'd be a crappy DM. I can't really see a good way out of this which is why I've been mostly silent.

A related question, Leaving Hope, who has been gone since before I came, was to my knowledge the only DM for the Eboncoin and Necromancers. If he's not going to come back could another DM be chosen to help out those two factions, and hopefully get them going again? On top of that with Sean's departure there are hardly any evil/shady DMs. Nothing gets the good guys together more than having organized bad guys.

Slanke prefers evil, Mach also has a bit of a tendency to like evil, Taffy prefers evil too... I think most of the DM staff actually belongs to the dark side. It's just that they all have been having their own issues that keep them from hanging out here right now.
