Not sure if this is where I should put this or not. But anywho. While I'm still waiting for Sundren to update, I've been looking over the classes and races and can't decide what to play. Anybody have any suggestions as to what would be a nice character to add to the server? Or should I just go with whatever?

Stats are a great place to start when thinking of what the server has already.
http://www.sundren.org/index.php?page=statisticsThe very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Typical underplayed common races; Dwarf and Gnome.
Typical underplayed common classes; Sorcerer, Arcane Archer, dwarven defender, warpriest. . . Any of which make for some pretty interesting roleplay.
Especially the Arcane Archer, one of the most powerful but underrated classes in NWN2. . . I seriously have no idea why there aren't more.Aesa Volsung - Uthgardt Warrior

Kyoko - Tiefling Diviner

I was thinking possibly Halfling or Gnome Bard? Are Bards very common? According to the stats it doesn't look like it. Maybe a Sorcerer...
Also, I heard somewhere that ranged combat was a bust, though I'm not sure if that's true or not. I haven't tried it out myself. I do like the thought of being able to hurt things outside of pointy-stick range. I've always imagined playing something like a scout, but nobody ever has the patience to actually plan out combat to make a scout useful. Usually combat goes something like buff, then kill stuff with pointy sticks.

Arcane Archer is an INSANELY powerful class, it's immensely underestimated by alot of the population. The problem with it that most people don't like is that it's easy on an RP oriented server for a fighter to just walk up to you, then click hostile before starting the fight, so you have to be very much smart and precise with how you go about playing one. Though I've watched a single arcane archer of around 10th level demolish an entire party of level 10's solo just through run and gun tactics.
That aside, getting +5 arrows permanently just through class progression on a low magic server is epic in itself.

As a player with like 8 lvl 3 toons....wearing metal is pretty handy. forget trying to solo as a ranged char. The lowest level mobs you will find come in 3s and have 15-20 health a peice. as for uniqueness....we have alot of tanks in the mid level range i think. some clericy types...i see almost no mages anymore. if you can survive the first couple levels of mage, you will be pretty well....unique.....warlocks on the other hand...heh...theres 2 at least, maybe 3. Oh, and we piss paladins. lol

Warlocks are still locked though, right?
Not too many treehugg- err druid types around these days, either. Though I've seen a few return recently.Annaleen Wiltenholm-There's always something to smile about.
Chani Kalera- Intimidation is the new diplomacy. *looms*
Eleanor "Bloody Elle" Lark - Why is the rum always gone?
Yolanda Brown - If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is going to suck.
Astrid Hammerhand - Och!

Hope you aren't saying my Skullcleavers are bad reps for Dwarves! The Few the Proud, The Dwarfs!! Join Now!
As far as something the Brigade doesn't have yet. That would be a primarily Crossbow wielding dwarf which could be interesting, but the problem in that is that if u go ranger (ranged focus) the crossbow doesn't benefit from the rangers bonus feats. There's a 14k crossbow in game that grants rapid reload feat that would be nice for saving a feat but overall using a crossbow as your main weapon just isn't as effective a bow. For RP it could proove interesting. we also have a scout now, or atleast someone made one (hope he plays it) so we have potentially a trapper. Dwarven defenders are ALWAYS welcome! We have maybe 3 in our roster but only one is on at typical hours, the other is apparently on vacation, and one plays late (dang pacific).
I think we have someone aspiring to warpriest, but none yet.. as they stated earlier its an underused class, but would fit very well with Dwarven society, If your going to be a good active player dedicated then I would ask for you to go warpriest, or dwarven defender, but thats just me.
Dwarf for the win!
