Hedge Wizzard Shield

Heya, just got a question about the hedge wizzard shield if anyone could lemme know the answer tht would be great. The shield offers -20% arcane spell failure and the shield itself is a light shield with 5% arcane failure, so that leaves 15% of the -20% unused. Does that remaining -15% go towards the arcane spell failure attributed to armor?

Just asking before I burn 30k on it.. I assume it does, but I could always be wrong I guess. Also anyone able to attest to having owned it and used it just incase it might not work like the piercing res belt?

All arcane spell failure properties stack. So it would be 5% from the shield and lets say 70% from the armor, then -20% from the shield, which would leave you at 55% failure.

Two questions please.

Does this shield still exist?

Can the arcanist's pearl be set in a helm? In the recipe for the pearl, it says armor or shield... does helm count as armor? As I see it is it a helm is armor and I would hope it reduces spell fail as they stack... Is this assumption fair?

Shield still exists. Sold by wizard at the Gate. (though may have had its stat's changed.)

Zalantar light shields are IMO better, if you've a wizard with a shield prof.

They give -10 Arcane spell failure and +2 AC. (Of course the shield spell beats all of this.)

Except that the shield spell lasts like 3 minutes max An actual shield... well is more long term

And the spell gives deflection bonus, not shield. I think it may have been changed at some point.
