  • Two questions

As i'm going into my third day of playing I must say I love this server Tried out a couple of other pw's before this one and imo this is simply the best. Great looking world, quests, locations hidden, cool players and last but not least great dm's. They actualy come when you ask something

    Now for my two quetions.
    - Why do you loose xp when you are ressurected / raised?
    - Now I'm lvl 5, but I don't seem to gain xp from creatures I kill, how come?

Thanks! and keep up the good work.

    First question

XP penalties were implemented to be just that. Penalties. Death isn't supposed to be something you shrug off and act like nothing happened. In fact, it will give you a more intense experience when leveling and adventuring -- Of course it'll piss you off when you die, but that's the point

Changing it, suggestions to change it, or complaints against it are not allowed and will get this thread locked quicker than a woman's door when Cirion is in the neighborhood.

    Second Question

Players have experience cap that prevents them from leveling. Your level cap will eventually be bumped up to a higher level in time. The longer you play, the higher you're allowed to level (up to level 15). For example, you are capped at level 5 until it increases to 6. It increases with time so you sit down and roleplay instead of mass-grind straight to 15.

I can not give you the time frame on when your level cap is raised, mostly because I can't find it on the faq. Click on your PC stats on the Sundren GUI ( Middle button, looks like a scroll ) to see what your current level cap is.

People should read the wiki, a lot of people put a lot of hard work into it (including players).

So our maximum level here is 15th? Just curious.

Yes, for now. I do not know if there are any plans to increase that after beta.

You can always play a new character until the other character increases. I'm guilty of playing like 8 characters on the server, not because of the cap so much but more by accident. I just like playing at lower levels more than high ones.

The maximum is really 20, I believe. However, beyond 15th level you will have to get XP only as a DM reward, which can come rather slow, or rather quick depending on how often you play, and how active you are while playing. I have a level 16 Druid on my alt, and I know that there is a level 18 floating about somewhere, too. As I said though, I'm almost certain that you'll stop moving at 20; but don't quote me.

Game is capped at 30, Sundren is artificially capped at 15. Beyond 15 only DM and quest XP allow you to progress forward.

Now you can technically make it to level 30, but the highest level player I know of is only 18 so don't expect to make it there without a few pints of blood and sweat. It's a harsh world.

But if you add up all of my characters they are like 90th level! Woot!

But seriously, levels should be seen as a happy accident, not the reason for playing. I'm guilty of doing my share of grinding, just for the strategic challenge, but I try to mostly think about how my character contributes to the world of Sundren.
