Is the server PG-13?

All right, I ran into two incidents which wasnt too pg-13. I thought this server was PG-13, and im wondering if somone can answer that?

First was somone changing right in front of everyone, going naked.... Yes, he emoted that.


Second, a half-orc pulls down his pants and pees in town, when there are gaurds around as well, and he just.. ignores the gaurds, and pees on the floor?

Alright, let me explain the reason for the PG-13 ruling.

Generally most people who play on PW's tend to be 18 or older, however, some are minors. As such there is laws (Unfortunately) that limit what sort of information they can be privy to or experience without parental consent. As it's easier for us not to allow such things to occur than to make sure all minors have their parent's permission, we have to stop people from certain activities. The only other possibility is saying we don't allow minors to connect or participate in Sundren, but then it'd be illegal for a minor to join (They likely will anyway) and we attract the "Sex Server" people, which is not good either So, here's some guidelines:

1) Sexual Conduct

I know it's RP and I know people raise their fists in anger at this, but people sometimes want to RP out sex or sexual activities. However, the recieving end or both sides could be minors. Do you know if they are? It only takes one disgruntled parent to throw a fit and bye bye Sundren. If we point out that we take action against this activity, then Sundren remains safe. Many companies have to go through this, such as MySpace.com or anyone else. Just because we're a video game doesn't make us any different. If you wouldn't see it on a PG-13 movie, it shouldn't be showing. (I.E. Genetalia)

2) Excessive Gore

Yes, unfortunately you're not allowed to rip out intestines and whip someone with them while devouring a heart of another enemy while you use lungs for pillows. It's just not allowed. This one is probably less likely to upset the overly sensitive parent compared to sexual encounters, but just for safety sake try not to go too graphic.


3) Public Nudity

-_- Do I really have to monitor this? Characters aren't too dumb to know peeing and changing in front of everyone butt naked isn't a good thing, Otherwise they wouldn't have clothes at all. These sort of "Silly" scenarios are about as funny as fart jokes to me. Now, if your character "Goes around the corner to piss", then that's totally different, but just dropping pants and peeing? Come on people.

4) Forced Rape / Molestation Etc

This is about the same as #1, but with more negativity attached. Rape or Sexual misconduct wouldn't be allowed even IF we were an all adult community. I shudder to think the OOC drama that could spout from this. Raped in a background story (Not graphically written) to build up some emotional state? Fine. Raped IC? No.

5) Cussing

I don't even think we need a rule for this since most cuss words in RL don't exist in fantasy worlds. However, for the sake of thorough writing, we had a thread on acceptable curses, I don't want to see F*** anywhere, the word doesn't exist in Sundren, period. Bitch used on occassion is fine. Arse, Pike, Bloody, etc is fine. Damn is fine too.

The server is indeed PG-13, but I'm not going to beat people over the head for breaching the rules. That's what Godbeast and Saulus are for.

I would suggest not deliberately steering your character from what they would normally do (no, this is not an okay from me for everyone to start making rapists). Use the fade-to-black technique and self-censor if you wish, and as always, use common sense and ask for OOC consent. No need to ask for DM intervention unless you feel you are being harrassed.

Your character is about to cuss? Emote it creatively (*Mutters a rude word under her/his breath*), use less hackeyed slang ("What a load of brouhaha!"), or use asterisks or random symbols ("Holy %#*$!"). Cussing in moderation is technically not in violation of PG-13, but use your best judgment as always.

It is perfectly fine for characters to be involved with each other romantically and have kinky hobbies behind the scenes. The PG-13 clause is simply there to keep Sundren from turning into a cybersex chatroom, and to keep Godbeast from being sued.

Then a reply further down the post reads "I think rated R is okay if-"... the rest doesn't matter because I said Rated R wasn't okay. That's where the surprise comes in. See how that works?

It'd be like me saying, "Nobody is allowed to kill NPC guards" and then someone replies "I think it's okay to kill NPC guards if-"... I'd quote them too and say "No, it's not okay. No one is allowed to kill NPC guards."
