What is the number of IG days that pass to every RW day? I have tried to figure it out for RP purposes. If you were to ask another character "I've known you how long?" for example. Thanks
Lately the only thing that keeps me from wishing for a worldwide disaster... is that it would probably interrupt my network connection

Sasha Mursadus - Does that hurt? No?... let me try a little harder then... Sasha's Theme Song

Who is the person who will defend the defenseless?

There is nothing definitive for obvious reasons.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

I tend to leave all references to time passage very, very vague in any dialogue with other characters, since everybody's on for different amounts of time.

I usually speak about 'the other day' or 'the other night' or 'a few days ago' as well... just like wang, I would assume. Being precise about it only creates hassle to make everyone's experiences fit together.

For reasons relating to my character, I use a 1 to 1 ratio for all calendar specific events (FR holidays, rituals, etc.), and then remain extremely vague for all other purposes.

When I need to refer to how long I've known someone or how long I've been in Sundren, I usually just say "quite some time" or "not very long." If you start getting into specifics, it gets rather dicey.

Ah, don't you love the solution to our lack of an in game clock is to simply 'not talk about it'.

This may sound abit odd, because its abit of a paradox, but I think we need some specific vagueness. Like perhaps if within every real life day there are several days so anything that happened earlier that night or that day was a few days ago, while something that happened in the real world's yesterday would have happened nearly a week ago in game time. Making three to four days a tenday, and a month is a month. From there its just so long ago most people don't even remember it.

Thats my thoughts and that how I refer to it, but everyone is welcome to do their own thing.

The problem with that is while using a defined set of values for time, one would have to say eventually "A year ago". This obviously cannot work, because we have to stay within the year 1372
              Characters:
Peridan Twilight, one-eyed dog of the Legion, deceased.
Daniel Nobody, adventurer and part time problem solver.

              [DM] Poltergeist :

No need to quantify the timing. Sure, it makes some of the realism and RP immersion fade, but that's all a state of mind, anyway. Think outside the box: bad events can become distant memories and good events can be fond recollections.

                Edit:

Consequently, it can help RP. For example, I was physically inactive in the game for 3 days, but for my character, it was a long time. Long enough for him to leave Sundren, experience a couple days worth of events (some of which are being detailed, in between memories, in my "Nights in Neverwinter" post *shameless plug*), and make the trip back. People tend to forget how long travels via wind-driven ships were, some times.

Or Pyras trip to Thay corresponding with the player's IRL vacation.

I actually still tend to refer to "yesterday" as RL yesterday, or "This morning" in the same fashion, but after a day I generally just refer to "a while back"
