  • PVP Respawn question

    4. I was killed, but I don't want to respawn and lose my experience!

There is no experience penalty to PVP death. We don't want people to feel they did something "Wrong" that got them killed. Maybe your character did something that got them killed, but that doesn't make you a bad RP'er, so we don't punish you for the action.

OOCly does that mean you get one of those Signia thingies when you die at the hands of a player?

No, because then you could respawn normally and have a free signus. It means you can get a DM to raise you if you die in PvP. As far as I know you still lose exp and gold if you respawn normally.

Usually, people use the ".subdual" command to make sure they don't actually kill someone (you will knock someone out to 0 health with physical attacks instead of making him drop even lower). That way, you can RP out the fight without one of you being stuck in the Forest of Eternal Night until a DM arrives.

Well if they did that their signus wouldn't be "free" as they had to take the death penalty for the pvp respawn anyways. I just assumed a sort of "penalty free death" would give you the "Respawn penalty item".

Thanks for clarifying though .subdual is a good command. Course if someone nails me with a fireball I don't know if subdual would make a difference :P

Unless of course they were say, at the very beginning of a level. As long as they're below level 11, they could repeatedly die, respawn, get free signi. Gotta think of all the loopholes.

Speaking of the death plane i want to say the staff did a great job scripting that place. I created a character that bugged out on creation and ended up in the detah plane right away and the creature there told me "you are not truely dead" and let me respawn penalty free. Very well programmed.

Don't talk to me about death exp loss right now. Seriously. I'll cry.

I wonder how that concern came up. *feigns innocence*

I'm just curious, but where did you find that rule Gevaudan? Th official rules for the server say differently

You may wish to tell the staff that there is a outdated rule still floating around.
