  • Thank You.

(I was originally going to post this in Kudos but on the off-chance that I offend someone I didn't want the thread to have to be locked.)

I'm certainly not one for ass-kissing or flattery but I am completely for giving credit where credit is due. Therefore; I want to say “Thank You” to all the staff and contributors to Sundren. I believe everyone should take a moment and think about how much work they actually put into this mod and how little appreciation they're usually shown compared to how much bitching and moaning goes on.

    • All the developers create great things in their spare time for our enjoyment without anything in return.
    • All the DM's take time away from building their own characters and RPing to run our quests on a dm-client that's far from user friendly.
    • Saulus does all this and puts up with the problems of physically running a server and maintaining a website.

And – believe me, I’ve seen this on many servers -- eventually they get tired out or start to feel unappreciated and they leave.

I'm not pointing fingers at anyone because -- honesty -- we're pretty much all guilty of not saying thank-you at one point or another or griping because we didn't get what we wanted. Therefore, this thread has been created for the purpose of giving thanks and showing appreciation to all the great staff that none of us want to see get fed up and leave.

Let me stress that this post is not intended to rile anyone up or piss any one off. I don't want to see any responses like "I take offense to that because I always say thank you!" Because, in-truth, if you do appreciate the staff and enjoy playing here then you know exactly where I'm coming from. So, if I’ve over-stepped any bounds here please feel-free to pm me and say whatever nasty thing you have on your mind but otherwise please refrain from flaming in this thread.

    [/rant]

Anyway; I believe my original point was:

    Thank You, Sundren Team!

    P.S. Never leave us!

Agreed, although I prefer to offend said offenders in an attempt to let them know just how god damn offensive they've been.

    Priorities, and stuff.

I've rarely seen something so well written. And I agree 100 percent Llew
Lately the only thing that keeps me from wishing for a worldwide disaster... is that it would probably interrupt my network connection

Kathryn Blake - In the time between times anything is possible. Kathryn's Theme Song

Sasha Mursadus - Does that hurt? No?... let me try a little harder then... Sasha's Theme Song

Well spoken . Or typed, rather... but you get the point and you get it across

I greatly appreciate what's being done here, have done so for several months and I hope I will be able to for many more to come.

I wholeheartedly agree - I feel privileged to have the opportunity to play here, particularly FOR FREE. I play with no expectations from anybody, and everything that exists on and is added to the server, I am very, very grateful for, as I realise I am very lucky to have a server such as this to play on.
Sure, there are plenty of servers out there, but try server-hopping for a few hours. It will most likely be a frustrating and unrewarding experience.
The first time I logged in on Sundren, I knew I'd struck gold within a half hour. Gold is rare, and should be appreciated.

I whole heatedly endorse Llews statement..

In the two months I've been playing on Sundren I've had a fantastic time, the player base is brilliant and I always look forward to being able to jump on-line after work and de-stress with some fantastic RP.

But none of this would be possible without the dedication and commitment of the DMs and DEVs who do such a fantastic job in developing, maintaining and bringing life to Sundren.

The work they do for nothing is top notch, I can't think of a single place that has the attention to detail that is lavished on every visible pixel and every script that ensures it runs. I doubt I could handle a tenth of what you all do and the amount of time you spare to do it, while my thanks may not be much it is genuine and the best I can offer.

If I had a hat, I'd doff it but I don't so I'll just confuse everyone in the office by doffing an imaginary one.

                  Chapeau.
                  Eira Skald - Icy bitch.
Karsten Mannerheim - Idealist and murderer.
Vincent Hopkins - Witch Hunter and man of faith.
Aedan Gilter - Dreamer of broken dreams.
Henry L. Jones - Oh god, I can see forever.

People really don't thank them enough, if only they knew what each of the DM/Dev team went through, to provide a free environment such as this, they'd be more appreciative.
Daelus Bloodmoon (a.k.a. "Thistlegrasper") - Ranger, untrusting and sarcastic ne'er-do-well, and overall jerk.

Just another "Thank you" to throw in with the growing list. I agree completely and utterly to everything thats been said here, and kudos to Llew for giving everyone the motivation to voice our great appreciation.

The staff should always know that despite often seeming like we don't appreciate your work, and we can all often probably infuriate you from time to time, we all love the work you do for us. You are totally and completely made of awesome.
