  • Dying...How does it work?

Okay, ive died a billion times...Ive noticed sometimes you get a fortitude save for getting to be unconscious,I think that is correct.Though what happens when you just die?Like there isnt a fortitude check to pass,i guess to decide whether you die or go unconscious..Im not understanding really i guess,i normally just die and goto the forest of the eternal night, its very rare it seems that i get that fort check or whatever...Can someone tell me how this works?

If you take damage that drops your HP to 0 to -9 hitpoints, you will fall unconscious and start to bleed. Each round you will take 1 damage unless you roll a successful fortitude save. Once you hit -10 hitpoints, you die and go to everybody's favorite forest.

So if you start off with 10 HP, you take 15 damage, you have a few rounds to pass a fortitude save. However, if you take 20+ damage, you'll immediately be sent to the forest.

Finally, any sort of death spell such as Slay Living or Finger of Death will bypass this bleeding stage, and you'll only be able to roll a save against the spell itself. Failing that and you'll be sent to the forest.

Let's burn the forest. The druids won't mind, right?
