I'm having an issue with the character biography in the player options...albeit more annoying than problematic.

Is there a character or word limit in that public biography box? Because no matter how much or how little I copy and paste or type directly in, it cuts off at 281 words when I update.

Most likely a bug, add it to the website bug section on the forum. Keep in mind the player options feature is in beta so there are bound to be a few bugs.

There isn't a limit, no, but it won't take certain symbols. You should check where exactly it is cutting off, remove/edit that symbol to something that is accepted, and then it should work.

Took me about half an hour to get mine in completely

It cuts off at the letter "t" in the word "both". Which is preceded by a hyphen, that being the only non-alphabetical symbol, aside from standard punctuation. But still, thanks for the tip.

Hmm, sounds odd. My own bio (and those of a number of other people) reach in the thousands of symbols and still fit in, so I can assure you there isn't such a low limit. There must be something else making yours not update properly...

You all copy /pasting it from a word processer? You might have format incompatibilities.

Yeah. Try using a text document if you're going to cut & paste...they're standard format.

I attempted pasting from notepad, and experienced the same problem - only this time it cut off before a hyphenated section. Pasting from a word processor, it went a word past the hyphen.

Tried something else: I cut the hyphen (standard thing, the key next to the zero: - ), and it kept everything. I'd hate to see what happens with a hyphenated word.

Note: Looked at a few more bios, and hyphens don't seem to be the problem. Must just be me. :P

I haven't had any problem typing the thing in the player options directly. If you're worried about losing data (which I have done many many times making posts. doh!), you can always CTRL+a and then CTRL+c to copy. If you accidentally press the back button on your browser or something, you can just use CTRL+v to paste it back. Of course, you have to repeat this process regularly to be safe.

Thankfully I'm fully aware of the copying and pasting process and how to achieve it. I write the more lengthy posts in a word processor before putting them online, as it is.
