  • Respect to everyone

Right, now, I thought I would have a small rant, well, its not much a rant because there aren't many people that do it, but there are some.

I shall start off with a story. I was on my PC a while back, with a rogue, who decided when we were on a run through the Spittlefist caves, he would take every loot he could find. Okay, I'll let him have all the rubbish loot, fine. We finally took down the Chief Spittlefist and lo and behold, he takes up all the loot from this. He then ran off through transition leaving me quite fustrated infront of my computer. So, I went outside, and he was half way down the hill, fighting a few goblins.

I sent him a tell as he was running rather fast and I couldn't be bothered chasing him. The tell said something like "Do I actually get any of the loot or what". He then told me "he was a rogue and should take everything, hehehe." (Yes he used hehehe) I replied, quite fustrated now seen as I was a mage and he dropped the Goats Head staff "Well at least can I have the staff, or we could just RP it out." He then actually replied with this "No I am keeping it all because I'm a rogue and I need to sell it now so bye."

Now through them tells I am guessing few people wouldn't be a little pissed off as I was. So I hopped onto the DM client and got to Exigo post at about the same time as him. I sent him a tell telling him he had just been rather rude to my PC and should of at least RPed it out. He then said "Oh sorry, I didn't realise you were a DM, do you want the loot then." I stripped him of all the Chieftan loot for his rudeness and left him on his way as he continually apologizing to me.

The point I'm trying to make is, respect everyone. Don't give cheek to other players because they may not have the authority of a DM (or seem as scary) or the ability to smite you right there. I know there may not be many people that do this, but I feel the difference at times when I'm on my PC compared to when I'm on the DM client on how people approach me. Also, don't call me Sir on the DM client, "Excuse me Sir can you help me." because I feel to much above everyone (good feeling but not necessary)
The other moral of the story is don't give shizz to a DM's player

Dune, you shoulda just spammed him with Magic Missiles on subdual and taken the stuff. If he didn't agree, then do it again for real and send him into shadowland. RP that out.

Of course that would only work if you were the vengeful wizard type.

While I agree with the idea, since there is certainly some real OOC issues with that kind of activity, I think you still could have and should have handled it IC. Theres more goblin bosses to kill for loot so its not a big deal.

If you went around telling everyone what a thief that person was, especially to all the low levels you meet, then people are not likely to adventure with him, leaving the thief (rogue is not the same as thief!) to try and adventure all alone.

Yes, yes, but it was the difference in which he treated me from a player to DM. First he thought he/she was quite frankly, awsome, to continually telling me sorry? I just think players should be treated with respect at all times and not to have different attitudes really.

Where else but Sundren do we have DM's admitting they are only lesser dieties not God's who look at the players as there personal finger puppets?

Rogues are suppose to take everything? What! Why didn't I get the memo?! I've been doing it all wrong!

                            I'm a failure...

Oh wait... A rogue is not a thief... must have been an idiot.

Rogue (n): A dishonest peson; A scoundrel. A playfully mischievious person; a scamp. (Comes from an old slang word roger, which was a begging vagabound).

Thief (n): A person who steals especially secretly or without open force.

It could be said all thieves are rogues but not all rogues are thieves. Yes, you should of nuked him.
