  • Armor/clothing Customizing

I'm pretty clueless to the powers of the toolset, so this might be a silly question to some...

Is there any way of making tailoring models in game, to change the appearance of your armor/clothing "on the fly"?

I played on several servers back in nwn1 that had this very feature, and I must say that it adds a whole new dimension to player clothing.

I recently acquired myself a nice set of +1 monk clothing, but I'm finding that I use normal sets of clothing more, both because the whole "shaolin eastern monk ninja style" -pyjamas, doesn't really fit with my characters concept, and also because that I -like- to surprise people by heading into combat unarmed, which is pretty rare because 80% of the time people meet me, they're like "*looks at the girl in the pyjamas* Oh, my little friend. She's a monk".

I can see this feature being abused by some of the "I'm sooo dark and evil and at the same time have the sexiest outfit on my female tielfling" -players (at level 3 mind you), but to balance it out, maybe we could have a gold price for customizing, or something. I'm not sure.

I think this is a great idea. One of my favorite features of Guild Wars is that you can make your own guild cloak. I believe this would add much variety and character to the game if it was handled properly (if that is possible).

This is not possible in NWN2. Any clothing/armor changing has to be done in the toolset.

Ugh. Well, so much for that idea. The only other way I could see was for a player to create his/her own item, then send it to a dm for import, but I fear that'd create a large and unneccesary strain on them, as well it's not -that- important, especially not at this phase of Sundren's life.

Wait for the first expansion, this is when NWN1 introduced that feature. I have no doubt we will see it in NWN2's expansion.

To be entirely honest; I doubt we will see an expansion for NwN2. Look to seeing all the content added through patches.

Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. Thought looks into the pit of hell and is not afraid. Thought is great and swift and free, the light of the world, and the chief glory of man."

Trust me, I know how these things work. You're not going to see everything you want to see in patches. Atari like any another publisher can only pay for so much post-release support before they have to generate revenue to pay the developer to keep making new content.

You're not going to see mounts, new prestige classes, armor parts, more monsters, etc just pop up in a patch. I wouldn't be surprised if they are already working on an expansion.
