  • The Gaurds Are There!

Come on people.. you cant just ignore the gaurds, just because they're npc. That gives you NO right to walk around with weapons, just because they cant say "Hey, put that weapon away!". Same with this other Cyricst, i saw earlier on, was asked to leave town, by a dm controlled unit. The moment the dm controlled unit leaves, he comes back in town, ignoring the gaurds, because the stuff isnt dm controlled anymore.

I put my weapons away... in fact I SING to the gaurds, which I think may cause for assault charges.

Please try to pay attention to this.. it's really no fun if people ignore the guards, because based on my experiences with other servers it leads to unnecessary court cases, jail, and other unpleasantness.

I'm pretty sure something can be scripted where the guards would notice weapons held out, and react with a warning or something.

I made a script in nwn1 to do it, but I haven't really fiddled with the new toolset yet.

Possible, but I hope the guards will not attack ( or Disarm) you for it, just warn.. because if I've hated on script in NWN1....

              That would be realistic though...

It can be made so that they only warn something alike:

*the guards points at <name>* Hey you! Put that weapon away!

And that would be it. I can't even begin to think of the horror-scenes where all global factions had been messed up because some npc had attacked a PC, resulting in a server-all PC vs. NPC struggle, heh.

I remember a Script on one of the NWN1 servers where the guard would actually run up to you, give you like 10 seconds and a repeated warning to put your weapon away. If you didn't, he beat the living snot out of you.

Meh, fun over realism any time all a disarm / attack script would do if piss people off when they forget to sheath for a moment.

Putting your weapon away is just common sense. I'm not going to program the guards to start spitting out annoying warnings.
