  • please pick up all loot...

Although a couple of things left on the ground may not make a difference, dozens of items left everywhere does cause a bit of lag. I realize that a lot of items are worthless (steins, tunics, boots, ect.) but if you just pick it up and put it in a container (crate, barrel, chest, ect.) it will be that much less crap laying around causing lag, thanks!
    - my two cents

side note for DMs - if players were provided with a tool that could delete/destroy itmes, this may possibly help out as well, thanks for your time!

There are scripts that clean up areas after awhile and most bags have decay timers.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

do the decay times only apply to creature loot drops, or are dropped items also affected. also, can the "decay time" be reduced to just a couple/few minutes, as i've never seen an item decay as of yet...?

I play a bard with a crap str, sooo, Im not picking anything up less its really useful, lol. You wouldn't believe how fast your wieghed down after picking up a few things, w/ a low str.

But yeah, that would be nice if every party picked everything up after a battle so as to not clutter things. meh...

Clean up both corpses and loot on the ground, I'm guessing. If so, maybe the timer could be sped up a bit.

I don't think the scripts are working properly. Almost at any point in time, various areas with hostiles are overrun with bodybags, even less frequented zones such as Mossclaw Meet. It makes for a messy scene, and not in a good way.

I also suggest making rubbish drops sell for at least 1 coin. Just so people actually have a reason to clean up after themselves.
