  • Making a character on Sundren

Im not sure if this is posted anywhere Sundren Community but I just want to give you a little insight in creating a character here.

I know many of you have a bio for your character, goals and such for your character.

There is one thing you need to remember when making your character.

    Your character is level 3!!

    They are not level 20..

No one player character in this server has legendary skills yet.. or bigtime thieving skills on here. You may get to that point with your characters life but please think about your characters history when you make one.

Its quite difficult to say your character killed 300 orcs in a battle alone and be level 3 or learned how to become a master thief in a city. I know your starting level is not really implemented in Roleplay ( no one really knows how powerful a person is in an "RP world" unless heard of) but the fun of making a character is having your character grow as he/she lives in the world. Then you are able to gain "legendary" status or be the most skilled thief in all of Sundren.

Starting your character out as a piece of crap nobody gives your character a chance to build a history .. how they came out of being a nobody.

This is really not an enforced rule as of yet but I personally frown upon people who make characters that have some rich heroic, elite skilled up type of background.

Again.. think about your characters history when making one. I think you'll enjoy your character more and the Dms will also enjoy your character as well .

It's alright to be a noble or an emissary or somesuch, but, yes, your character is level three. You do not have a +5 Sundering Keen Shock Longsword family heirloom won by killing a lich king after slaying an entire crypt of undead. If you're coming here to be high and mighty without having to roleplay to get there, you'll find yourself on the bottom of all the characters who simply worked to get a position in society.

While three hundred orcs is certainly overdoing it, three or five could make you the local hero of a village from some other land. Small things like that add flavor, without making your character some Aragon-wannabe.
"Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth -- more than ruin -- more even than death.... Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. Thought looks into the pit of hell and is not afraid. Thought is great and swift and free, the light of the world, and the chief glory of man."

Probably.. How about the rare occurance of the dragon stumbling and landing on Sylivia's blade? As the dragon goes down her blade slips threw a crack in it's scales and somehow punctures an artery of it's heart, killing it within seconds. But this would equate to the rare occassion of being struck by lightning twice in the same night. Most observers would question her ability to do it on a regular basis.

So would you consider this a good base to begin with for a background?

                          Charactor name Robert Travis
bio:Born the only son of an evil king.Getting sick of the daily abuse Robert took from his tyrant father, one day while his father was sleeping Robert stalked silently into his chamber and slipped a scorpion under his fathers covers.Standing in the shadows Robert watched as his father died from the venomous stings. Before leaving the room,he turns, looks at his fathers corpse and calmly states "your evil reign of terror is over,no more will people suffer the hands of injustice.Rather it be by evil or overly good I will be there to stop it.

I would say it depends...if that king is like a reknowned king on Faerun...oh I don't know like king Azoun or something then it'd be over the top. But if its a foreign king that isn't extremely well known as one of the leading figures of the FR then I don't see why the story can't happen, but thats just my opinion. BTW your character will probably turn evil for killing his father. Yes its killing an *evil* man but he is still your father and he didn't plot your murder first...a good man would try to stop his father or run away...but darkness must take over his heart if he is to murder his father in cold blood. Again, only my opinion...

acutally forlorn, my opinion would be thats a lawful good act. paladins would set aside their family for true justice and just slay them, they usually dont give them a chance to talk or turn away,at least the Tyranites. They just smite what they think is evil.
