  • How you rate

This is as much a comparison-type post as it is an attempt to get people to read backgrounds and storylines

When you post a rating (the stars on the posts), how do you decide? Are you all about the storytelling? Is it more about the structure of the content? Does the gramar do it for you? Or is it character conversation/interaction?

If you do not rate posts, I'm urging you to do so. Maybe you don't really know how to. I don't think there's a black and white way to do it. But, people who really invest a lot of times on storylines deserve some feedback. Some people are just taking a stab at writing something. Some are trying to interact more with the community. And some are trying to perfect their mad storytelling skillz!! Any way you look at it, we all want to know what the community thinks about it. It helps us grow and tell/add to better stories.

I rate it for purposes of importance. I know that, personally, am more likely to read a post with 4 stars rather than no stars, and so I am sure that whenever I come across one that leaves me saying "Damn, people need to see this", I rate it high. It attracts attention that is due. Whether well-written or not, if people need to see it, I put it out there with a high rating.

    That's just me.

If something is actually really well-written and interesting, I send a PM or give Kudos to the person in the Kudos Thread.

I did not even notice the ratings of a thread. So, I made this the first thread that I have rated.
