Disguised PCs

Real simple. If they are flagged as disguised, please RP appropriately. Meaning this: You only check to pierce their disguise if you have both conditions that follow to be true:

1.) You must be interacting with the person. You do not get to spot for disguise unless your interacting with them. You cannot pierce a disgiuse from across the server or even an area

2.) You must have a reason to believe they are disguised. If you've never met Max before and he's disguised, why are you rolling to pierce it? How would you know thats not what he looks like? (Next time you meet him is when you'd try for a disguise. Same thing goes with polymorphed animal and non humnoid forms. Unless you got a reason to, don't.

Currently the check is Spot vs Bluff
As soon as we get the new skills in it will be spot vs. disguise.

Ok here's a question, what if a person in a disguise is well known to an animal? Say PC A spent time petting an animal companion to PC B, and then shows up later in disguise. PC B may never notice at all, having a low spot skill, but the animal would remember the scent of the person who showed them attention earlier. I'm not saying that this would be an instant give away, in fact is a PC can't beat the bluff roll, then it doesn't matter what their animal companion does, however I think it would add a little fun to a disguise situation if the person in disguise had to think about animals as well as PC's knowing who he was

Rp it as you wish. From personal experience I find animals to be as oblivious as humans are. My 6 year old Akita still barks at me I come home wearing my shades or a hat. Just cause they got good noses, doesn't mean they are all that bright.

yes but Akita's are not all that bright to begin with... sweet if scary looking, but not all that bright. In any case, not really something that needs to be worried about since it doesn't change mechanics a whim, it's just kind of a fun thing to add to the dynamics, if the PC's want to
