  • Character Bios

Been said before and I'm mentioning it again. You cannot add information to your bios that wouldn't be allowed IG without DM approval. Things such as half-dragon or son of The King of Shadows is not allowed. Of course these are extreme examples which I hope nobody would be stupid enough to put anyway. It has been mentioned before too about titles - Sergeant, Corporal, General ect are not allowed unless there is an IG reason (Your part of the Sundren militia) or a DM has allowed it.

    For example -

Tamryn Jorandur has the title Noble Judicator and in the Triumvirate wiki page she is a named Noble Judicator. Unless you are known to be a part of this or you have the class with your IG character, don't put it.

One with dragon blood in his veins, said to be responsible for guiding his actions; a man who, at times, smelled of smoke.
Unfortunately, unless you are an RDD or this has been allowed by a DM it shouldn't be put on the wiki. Adding this information is not allowed and if you would like to add this sort of information or don't know whether it is allowed, feel free to ask any of the DM team.

You overlooked the most important fact on the Triumvirate page.

However, you're right and people need to pull together and work with the DMs to make their character both awesome without being.. Too awesome. It seriously makes things less cheesy and more awesome if you do so!

The way I see it, is the less you start with, the more you have to gain. If a level 3 character gets off the boat saying he's king of the world, what's left for him to do? But if he is a beggar, someone with a dream, then you have so much to build on.

The last person who said he was 'King of the World' when he got on a boat ended up a popsicle. I wanna see more pathetic characters.

Karthus was a postal boy who got lost. He's still waiting for his boat ticket out of this two-horse town.

                How's that?

Sorry, any background resembling a Kevin Costner movie are automatically rejected and the character deleted from our databases.

you mean the (edited) guy wasn't DM authorized? i've met him a few times and RP'ed him thinking that he may be of (edited). I guess i'll just reason it off that he was just a really bad cook and kept burning his goblin meat.

So I guess I'm a little confused. I thought part of unlocking a class was to have good RP background to go along with your char to help unlock the class. So if I came up with a good character background for a Haper agent to and my char fit the criteria then im not allowed to be a haper agent? So if having a concrete background dont help unlock a class what does? I'm not tring to buck here I'm just tring to figure this out. The char you mentioned could still rp that he has draconion blood even if he isnt a RDD. Just like I could have a background of a Thayen Red wizard even if I dont have the class correct? I could have been a former Red wizard no?

Definetly no to being a former Red Wizard. It's all about what could have realistically happened for someone starting out as a level 3 character. There's a level of DM descretion but suffice to say if you have any irregular background that's supernatural in nature or your character has some exceptional abilities or history which go far from the mundane in FR lore, then you will need some sort of DM approval for it.

This includes being a dragon, or part dragon, or part celestial, or grand titles of power from other lands, etc.

In game RP is really what counts the most, though forum posts are important too. Sometimes you actually have to prove yourself with a different character so that the DMs will give the all clear to start a new restricted one.

Players like Kangleton or Lollercide and many others may have earned this privilege. I think of the requirement is more about establishing a committed relationship with the DMs.

For instance I built a Red Wizard hopeful, but then when I talked to the DMs about making him a Red Wizard they told me that this role would require serious dedication to evil. Unfortunately, I'm one of those players that really only gets on for a few hours a day, and I like to play a bunch of different characters which might have differing agendas. Can you imagine if Lollercide played Hano AND Omnigalas!

Essentially as a player I'm just not ready for the long term commitment. DMs please correct me if I'm way off here.

He mentioned me first, Lollercide. You were just the backup example.

And nickbeat, thanks a lot. You just spoon-fed my ego.
