  • Brief Word on Shapeshifting

This is just a small reminder regarding shapeshifting. While few things will reveal one's true form (true sight being the only thing that comes to mind), there are some other spells and abilities that can give hints as to something being amiss with a shapeshifted animal.

    * Dragon Sight spell will not reveal the true form but the perceiver will know the target is not in true form.

    * Detect Alignment can give clues, since most animals are neutral alignment. Keep in mind, this is an active search ability; don't use it unless you have reason to suspect something.

    * Detect Magic can also give clues; again, don't use it unless you have reason to suspect. Visual spell effects on a shapeshifted form would be a dead giveaway.

Druids and other shapeshifters would know that many things can give away their identity. Keep that in mind when you're entering into a cautious situation in shapeshifted form. Thanks

I agree with all of those, I just have one question. We have a MoMF or two on our server and in their case it says:

A master of many forms has no shape that she calls her own. Instead, she occupies whatever body is most expedient for her at the time. While others base their identities largely on their external forms, a master of many forms actually comes closer to her true self through her transformations. Of necessity, her sense of self is based not on her outward form, but on her soul, which is truly the only constant around her. It is the inner strength of that soul that enables her to take on any shape and remain herself within.

Would dragon sight pick up on it if it was a MoMF? It kind of seems like all of the MoMFs forms could be considered true identities, or do you wish to call the MoMFs race at creation is still considered his true form for the sake of not having a special rule for them? It's not a big deal, I just wonder because it seems like it'd be pretty easy to keep dragon sight up all the time, easier than justifying random 'detects' at least.

      Rule Per Me:
MOMF's original form is his true form.
This stops any arguments as to that.
((I claim right to make this rule cause I made the class and the druid feats that are causing all these problems, so there!))
Also, to add to the list, MOMF's have two forms that will pick out shifters/polys as well.
Grimlock form and Dragon Forms can pick out shifters. (Though Grimlocks are blind and its an expression of their sonar like 6th sense, so they can't be relied on to make positive identification).

Yes yes, it wouldn't be an official Sundren Post (tm) without your stamp on it Jaeram

Hey? Was that a shot? lol

So I talk a lot, I figure if it's anything like monkey's in rooms with type writers, eventually we're gonna get Shakespeare. That has nothing to do with our server though. Maybe I should just get my own water mark and put it on every thread. Eventually something good will come of it.

Phantom, what about me? Don't you need my approval?

Because I don't give it. So nyah.

This has been disproven overwhelmingly. We've had millions of users on the internet for a decade now, and we still have no shakespeare. What chance does 10,000 monkeys on typewriters have?

((Actually in hindsight, figuring the IQ level of some of the people I see on the web, I'd put my money on the monkeys))

It may take 10000 monkeys to write Shakespeare, but it only took 12 of them to bring about the fall of civilization as we know it.

But the monkeys were a red herring!

If they can write Monty Burns' autobiography, surely they can do anything.

From an evolutionary standpoint, has not this already happened?
