When your around a group of people you know/understand what they mind/don't mind, that evil guy going George Carlin (NSFW) on you can be pretty funny. There can be a limit though for some people. *shrugs* I like the realism though.

I really don't see the problem with swearing provided that it is not only an IC thing to do, but also fitting of the context/setting. I mean, dropping an F-Bomb (love that analogy) really doesn't even make sense in English, given the meaning of the word, so I don't think it would make any more sense in Faerun. However, the word "bitch", which resulted in someone leaving the server, I had really thought not to be so dramatically vile. In fact, I would wager that it would be a common insult in this setting considering how typical it is to see Bandits use the word "dog" when describing a Watchman.

But, uh... I guess I was wrong. Although it makes me laugh, I assure you that the laughter comes with guilt.

      Poor, offended girl.

Isn't there a goddess whom you hear about in the very first part of the PW called the Bitch Queen?

Anyways, I don't see swearing as a huge problem so long as every other word isn't some variation of the F-bomb.

That was my thinking. It's good to know that I have some support.

So basically it is alright to say *bleep*, *bleep* and *bleep*. However we should be cautious when saying *bleep* or *bleep* and also watch our *bleep* and *bleep*, like if our character was commenting on *bleep*ing the *bleep* out of of some *bleep*ing *bleep* *bleep*.

              Is that about right?

I would, but I am out of witty remarks.... assuming I had them in the first place.

Bad words are most often mitigated by context. Consider "Fracking Awsome!" vs "Fracking Idiot!"; Both statements have opposite meaning.

The use of the offensive language serves to implicate the intensity of the object it suffixes.

Yeah, you should really be notifying the Staff about these things, I know if I saw it happening the first thing I would have done was checked to see if there was a DM on that moment to just get the person thrown off. If there wasn't, you better believe I would have been taking some screen shots. It's not something that would bother me nearly as much as it probably bothers you, but I have to think that it could be someone who does this to other people who could be uncomfortable with that kind of situation, and it's also probably not a person who's been here very long. Sometimes you get low life's who just slither from server to server doing inappropriate things until someone bans them for it, I guess it's how they get their jollies or something. We just plain out don't need those kinds of people in this community.

I have removed the post to a private area. Again, if a player has a problem here, the proper procedure is to bring it to DM Dune, LH, Saulus, and if none are available, Me. My MSN is on nearly 24/7.
Airing dirty laundry in a public domain is not acceptable on this server. EVER.
And with that, I'm locking this down. Don't reopen it elsewhere in public channels.
