  • Wednesday 0400CST RP and Fun

Ok, so, those of you on around 0300-0500 must know about the tactically sound goblins tonight thanks to our new DM Elka. That had to be some of the most fun RP and Fighting I have had in a while... The other Halforc, damn my bad short term memory... Grom? Grob? and I slashed our way slowly through probably 30 goblins with the help of some hissing mage who I won't even try and pronounce his name, and a little pointy ear for a short while... We ran into an odd pointy eared barbarian that decided to fight me at almost no health and disappeared... then we ran into some odd halfling cheery fellow that made the mistake of sarcastically saying , "Heh, yeah, I'm the goblin leader" while me and the other half orc were debating as to whether or not the goblins were crafty enough to disguise themselves like a blond haired halfling... I immediately raged and we of course attacked and, smartly, he ran...

The RP was great, I had the most fun I've had to date and we didn't even have a DM. THAT is the type of RP that is FUN folks... I can't wait to get in there and do it again.

Fubar Da'Snafu will be coming on alot more often I think... Just don't talk to him in any other language than orcish... speaking common gives him headaches...

Fast forward to 0500-0700 and I met up with a mute monk and an old wizard named Azhura and Zefzen and we braved the caves spending much more time to rp than kill... and actually ended up killing the boss with the three of us!!! a little tactics can go a long way... although I think they took advantage of poor Fubar's witless nature and used him as a trap-remover... but he did buff me up before sending me out to make stuff explode LOL... any idea how frustrating it is for an orc that barely speaks understandable common to communicate with a mute? Madness... Unfortunately all of the good prizes were locked away in chests and we had no hope of getting to them because the knock spell is jinxed... so, perhaps some other time we will find some token items of fortune to aid us in our adventuring, but for now, we got to take home a fun night of RP and could have cared less about the "phat lewt"...

My lvl 5 PC finally killed the chieftain with the help of a lvl 3. I think we had all of 47 HP between the two of us combined. For once I didn't get critted...
PC - Corwin Eska'las (Sun Elf pursuing the dream of becoming a Bladesinger)

Alt PC - Brevin Smoothands (meticulously groomed half orc bard swashbuckler... sort of... sings great, less fighting)

If you are killing the chieftan with two people, you are either too high to be in the caves or have bought way too much gear and have it way too easy with the bonuses. He's a tank, hard to hit, with nasty damage reduction and crits like a frost giant weilding a dragon's tail for a weapon... ok maybe not that hard but when you are a level 3 orc barbarian and get smacked down to unconciousness within the first minute of the fight, there's some serious damage there.

Took me and a level 5 or so fighter to take him down when I first see him...he also has a square box graphic for his shield.

This is an annoying bug by Obsidian which I can fix but it's a bit of a pain. I'll try to remember this one though.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Please read again... he was lvl 5 (rather gimped build too, as I'm RPing a bladesinger wannabe and the build will not go well with EK which is my only option atm), with a lvl 3 PC, and he used a normal longsword and normal medium armor; the only thing he had that was a plus was a +1 towershield he found (which eventually he won't get to use if he starts bladesinger training)... the lvl 3 PC didn't have didley... we used some spells and potions... and this thing called tactics that you were bragging about , plus a lot of luck... we got him in the perfect spot where my PC took the brunt of his attacks while the other PC sneak attacked him repeatedly.

It took forever to kill him. But funny how when you do it "a little tactics goes a long way" but if someone else is doing it they are obviously too high lvl or twinked out...

First, I wasn't bragging. Second, two of us spent half the fight on our backs unconcious. We were lucky to win the fight. Thirdly, I don't see where I was bragging except to brag on the other two people in my party for being able to roleplay the entire time and still fight smart to take down a very tough boss...
