Equipment does seem fairly balanced so far, from what I've seen. I think crafting would indeed spice things up a bit though!

      Skill building craft system

Maby when making a character, no points should have to be spent on crafts. I like the old way where you get to mine(and the more you mine the higher your skill goes), you have to smelt(same skill system) then hammer, put the stuff together and so on. That always gives players something to do if they want to spend some time not questing. If I have a cleric that I put all my stat points into wisdom, I only have 4 points left and I dont want them in smithing or alchemy. The present system only helps characters like mages and rouges who need the points in intelligents and have plenty of skill points to waste because of it. I've personally known some pertty stuiped mechanics. Why shouldent a big dumb fighter be able to learn crafting through practice alone....not skillpoints.

I just tested out making a simple longbow today; have 3+ ranks of weaponcrafting skill and had a mold plus 2 planks of wood which I had to squeeze out of the crafting supply merchant (that was rather fun, though humbling and frustrating for my PC - thanks Euniana?); I put them in the smith's workbench and used the hammer on it, and... no go; nothing happened, not even failure/insufficient skill etc messages... so apparently the crafting is not yet enabled.

Alt PC - Brevin Smoothands (meticulously groomed half orc bard swashbuckler... sort of... sings great, less fighting)

My concern is that I've based one of my characters on crafting. He has maxed out craft armor, weapons, and some alchemy. I also intend to channel magic through my creations.
So if a new crafting system is implimented, hopefully your ranks will still matter for something.

I can guarantee when we focus on crafting that we will at the very least still use all appropriate skill ranks so nothing is wasted.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Will you bw using the complete craftsman mod or will you be doing something else?

If we don't use the basic crafting system, we will use our own.
