i have not been able to find much information on that and was hoping to be directed in the right direction. Will i need to spend skill points on it? feats?

I understand materials can be found around the world but thats about all i could find.

I believe if you want to create regular items you will need to spend skill points in the appropriate skill ie. armorsmith, weaponsmith. If you are looking at creating magical equipment then you are looking at needing the feas such as brew potion, scribe scroll, craft wondrous item, craft magical arms and armor.

Crafting might not be fully implemented yet. I have not verified that it can even be done in Sundren without any additional setup. We do have the armorsmith bench in the Avanthyr Smithy.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

I'm about 75% sure when I get to the crafting issues, I'll need to redo the crafting 2DA on the server, since it is what handles the formulas and resulting objects. +5 Full PLates appearing makes GBX want to slap someone.

thanks for the responses, i was asking because some servers have it going that ya do not need to invest skill points and such.

Ill start investing those skillpoints and feats.

The crafting in the original campaign is pretty awesome. However, for PWs you would need to customize it to fit the scope of each individual world, and this takes *alot* of work. However, once the server is established and everything seems to be flowing smoothly, I'm sure the community will turn to crafting and develop some very interesting systems. I know for NWN 1 they had all sorts of different crafting systems and some of them were extremely amazing.

Is there going to be a lvl restriction on items? I think it works well with the crafting keeping items at a good lvl.

Btw Im anti-immunity. Let the saves work it out and ban Golden Circlet etc. Immunities from race or class are ok. Saves are underrated and classes like Paladins and Blackguard need their advantages.

Sorry, got carried away in the end there

                Definite "Level Restrictions"?

Will we turn on "You need level 5 to wear this item"? No.

The ability to make something and the materials to make it are two different things. I could see someone waiting a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon g time before they finally make a single master crafter item

Well, as In lvl 11 is the lvl you need to use a plain +5 armour. You get the picture. Btw i edited the post above.

You should read the older posts if you need more information. It seems you under under the assumption we even allow +5 items to be randomly obtained by players.

I don't think we need item level restrictions, really. Giving a +2 weapon to a level 1 isn't horribly unbalancing, it's if their inventory is full of +2 items.

Must be my crappy english that makes all this missunderstandings. I was just a little afraid of seeding. I still think the bracers of armour +3 is to good in the templeshop. And that belt with freedom of movement....that is way to good.

But I get it. No one seems to think this is a problem right now. I will leave it behind, and start thinking about other stuff.

Eh, I think I would be concerned if I see the Chieftan Spittlefist being killed by a level 3 adventurer solo. Then it's clear someone's getting equipment way beyond their league. So far, equipment seems balanced to me.
