and hey, not all rogues are jerks... some of us are ass holes, others are just down right evil...

Edit: Yeah traps! more traps too, those are great.

5k?.....ya kidding. Ashinet signed on to help someone for 100 gold. Though got paid 30 because the chief beat the crap out of both of us.

Ashinet is more then willing to pay back the goblins, she also cast light to help those she travels with.

Not sure your time zone though I play in the evening at west coast time. If you see Product of Void log in send a tell will help.

    5k....damn I knew she was cheap I blame her 10 wisdom....:P

Some of us only get 2 + int modifier skill points per level. Not dex based, and open lock is a cross class skill. I get 4 points per level with my relatively high intelligence. So sacrifice half a level of skill points to unlock a single door? I'll pass.

No, if you have a 12 dex you open just about every door in the game with just that single point in open lock. Most locks are less than 20 and only one door that I know of has a DC above 22.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear: Rena is a crafting focused cleric. She doesn't have feats to spare. Half of her skill points go to craft weapon/armor, the third to concentration, and the last to misc other skills. Besides, I don't know why Rena would be interested in picking locks.

And able learner? With 4 skill points per level? Maybe if Rena was a fighter. They have what, no essential skills? And the ones they do get are limited to skills that involve whacking things with sticks and pointy objects.

And if almost every chest can be opened with a 1 point investment, the devs need to fix that. My guess is they didn't take into account the fact that every open lock check uses take 20, an action which should take 2 minutes, but instead takes 6 seconds.

Okay, now you're just being unreasonable, and folks are taking a necroposted thread wayyyy off topic... start a new thread if you will, but please, keep it somewhat close to the topic of fighting the Goblin Chieftan or otherwise dealing with his encounter.

Rogues have suffered with NWN2. They are not the essential tool of a party that they used to be in NWN1 and so it's good if a player world is setting things up in favour of requiring a multiskilled and capable character to achieve goals.

umm Rogues got lots of loving in nwn2..due to FEINT.

So you can have rogues who hide, or rogues who are brash upfront fighters.

only thing I never figured out is why HIPS is not a level 10 feat that can be choosen by rogues. Shadow dancer's features and rogues are almost identical. Evasion, Defensive roll, etc.

the doors have alot of hit points so being a rogue helps a fighter not bash doors for long periods of time. Heh...in nwn1 I knew a server that if you bashed a door a monster was summon.

Don't forget the new chest destruction I was testing in Sharahan will soon become universal... meaning fighters can destroy chests to get the loot, however there may be a trap that finishes them off from doing that, or there is also a high chance the loot will be damaged and result in useless goods.

                                Having a rogue pays.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
