I even wish there's more traps in the cave, so my treasure hunter can actually feel USEFUL.

lol you payed someone 5000 to unlock a door, I want to shake that rogues hand because I would do it for 1gp. Inherently as a player I like helping other players, but IC he would normally need a reason to go out of his way, even if he's just lounging around doing nothing, to go open a door for someone.

and hey, not all rogues are jerks... some of us are ass holes, others are just down right evil...

Edit: Yeah traps! more traps too, those are great.

If I had a rogue on this server, his personal hero would be the one that banked 5000 gold off opening a door for sure.

The lock is a pain when there is no Rogues, Was cool last night because Wlyde Rose came by as a goblin and we end up making it unlock the door for us.

Try to keep the quest hiring IC please guys. The door was locked to encourage RP. Setting up times and prices OOCly here on the forum is counterproductive. Use the RP forum if necessary!

In response to all you people commenting on my massive expense, please take note that I don't care about your opinions!

I have so much gold, I don't even know what to do with it. 5000 is child's allowance to me and my glorious, filled pockets!

But in all seriousness, I like the locked door due to the fact that Rogues get some love out of it. Though, I wish it could take more things into account. Being able to turn into water, or air, should be able to grant access to cracks, holes, crevices (etc.) in or around doors, thereby allowing you to pass through. But noooooo, Sharrington had to go and get lazy.

...This time, the boldness wasn't for emphasis. It was for sarcasm, or something else that would imply the exact opposite to Sharrington being lazy, since he is, in fact, not. Everyone better love this guy.

I agree that locked doors are great for giving rogues things to do, but it is frustrating having to go with what i call "Resident Evil" mentality:

"This door is locked, I must get the key! I couldn't possibly break it down with my array of tools, weapons and great strength, oh no..."

At least in D&D I can reason that it must be a magically reinforced door.

Well there are plenty of rogues here, just be patient, and if you cant just ask someone if they can 'OOC' log onto one of their rogue characters..

Yes, this is indeed a zombie thread. Meaning that the contents likely died a long time ago. Last time I checked, the doors in the caves can be bashed open, but it takes forever. Even as a druid in dire panther form, with 30+ strength, it took me forever to break those doors down. It manages to solve both problems: It makes rogues extremely useful, but makes it possible to get through the dungeon when a rogue isn't available. But trust me, running through the traps, which often block the only two paths to the bottom floor, hurts like hell.
