Alternative to sundren client? Offline files?

I have searched using the forum search function and it didnt come up with anything so I really hope this hasnt been answered elsewhere.

I use the university network which is known for being troublesome for all sorts of different reasons. It took me 4 hours yesterday to download and install the Sundren Updater Client, I'm sure this is to do with my connection and not to do with Sundren itself.

However now whenever I run the Updater it either does not load or, if it does, seems unable to download the necessary files, again probably because of the University Network. So my question is: Is there an offline version of the files needed to play Sundren? The game will play fine over the network so its more of a case of getting the necessary files. Thanks

Offline as in not on the internet? But how would they get to you?

Oh God sorry! I meant download the files so that I can install them offline without using the client. Hope that clarifies!

Hmmm... Can you play NWN2 on the university network fine?

Well I can't connect to Gamespy but all Direct Connects work fine.

What error message are you getting? And I think Saulus has updated the updater client so it runs off teh internets. You sure you using the right one?

The client updater simply says there is an error downloading the files, or it fails to start up at all. I am using the current(?) version, downloaded off this site just yesterday. Is it possible to update Sundren without using the client?

to answer your second question, no there is no other way to get the files except through the updater (someone correct me if i'm wrong)

This made me sad as I really looked forward to getting back into Sundren (I had to quit for a while as I moved from Zimbabwe to Australia for university) But hopefully that thread you pointed me to will hold answers! Thanks for your help everyone!

Yep mine still continue I opened the options on the updater and there was the little 'Validate' button next to the server url(http://lastheretics.com/updater/) and it keeps coming back with 'Unable to Download Configuration (Unable to connect to the remote server)'

Ooooh, I had that for a while. I left it for a day or two and came back to it, and now it works fine.

If you are getting errors with the updater try going to the Microsoft website and manually downloading .NET 3.5, then run the updater.

Okey dokey I'm re-downloading .net 3.5 and uninstalling and re-installing it. Hopefully this will work now.
