Has anyone else ever gotten stuck behind that secret door right by the stairs coming down from level 1?

I made my spot check coming in, and now my toon can't see it coming out

Coud we have a lever on the inside of this dead end that lets us back out? It's a little demoralizing to be stuck in there with no possible escape. I mean, my barbarian would start hacking at the rock to break through the wall, but obviously that doesn't work in the game. And there are times when there is no DM on to help out...

    Please?

P.S. Thanks for helping me out, Dune.

I had a problem with this before as well. It appeared as if the trigger for the search check was broken, because not even a DM could open it normally. A lever could work, but it breaks immersion a little.. how about putting something on the Altar that opens the door if you touch it?

Eh well... whichever creepy natsy goblin build the place in the first place might well have thought to put in a lever on the inside.. just in case. I wouldn't say it breaks immersion - but I like your idea too

I don't believe it breaks immersion - and I hate that door. You see it one second, then its gone the next. How does that happen? Does my character have some kind of impossibly short memory span?

There is a lever behind the door in one of the first rooms you enter in Spittlefist level I, so it shouldn't be a leap to have one behind the big boulder, IMO.

*remembers the good old days of getting stuck behind that particular door*

Ahhh! The nostalgia's so much better than the actual experience

                  How do I get around?

I realise this is a dead thread, but I'm being thwarted by the secret door, I realise being a lowly Fighter means i have a poop spot skill, but i have drank wisdom potions and all sorts and can never see the damn door! What level of spot to i need to be able to see that Secret door, Skeld knows about it IC as some one has previously shown it to him (Unfortunately I generously let them take the quest item so I have to do the Baneguard again) so it's rather frustrating being online on my own and not being able to see a door i KNOW is there.

I believe it's actually search-based, not spot. INT buffs help.
