Abou NWN2 Heads.

Hello, people. I am new to Sundren, and I would like to discuss something.

I hope this wasn't discussed before. I used the search tool, but found nothing. It is about these MoTB heads. These are ugly.

I don't know if everyone has the same opinion, but I really didn't like these new textures they gave the heads. They were acceptable before MoTB, but now it is just ugly.

However, Overrides are not allowed, as far as I know, so a file which reverts the heads to the old models would not be allowed. Even if it was, it would not be that nice, since everyone would still see you as the "ugly one".

I know this is not a crucial thing to make the server work, but hasn't anyone thought about this possibility, of implementing the old models in the server instead of the new ones? I do believe the majority of people would prefer the old heads, I hope to not be wrong.

Also, speaking of heads, there are, already, some nice hair models that could be implemented. Like this.

I wasn't sure if I should post it here or in the suggestion forum. I preferred to do it here to see what other people think (maybe it is just me that have problems with those MoTB heads).

I just would like to add that it is possible to choose what heads will be replaced.

Yeah. When the heads first came out, I noticed they were a bit ugly because I was used to the old NwN2 heads. Now I'm used to the old MotB Heads. No thanks, I don't want to change AGAIN. Besides, this has already been mentioned, by myself and a few others but others prefer the new heads. Most heads actually got improved, just not some of the female heads.



Edit: Those are only elves.... And yes, they got screwed up a hell of a lot. But other faces got improved as I said. They made them more darker and just duller for some reason.

It is possible to replace just the elven heads, for example.

Hm. That'd work, I suppose. Don't really know if the elven players prefer their new heads, seeing as they're probably used it, but I know Wang didn't really like it much when it came out. :P. Alyrian looked so silly.

I myself usually roleplay a sun elf. They were not that pretty already with the NWN2 Heads, and it became worse with MoTB. It is almost impossible to create something that looks well. But let's see what other elven players think then.

Sun elf? Personally, I think sun elves have the best heads.

I had the exact same reaction as undeadsteak - in the beginning, i was horrified as to how much like undead all the heads looked. But now that's it's been like 6 months, I no longer notice it.

... maybe because my character wears a paper bag :O?

head styles and hair styles suck in nwn2 the game makes jsut didnt put much effort into it

Yeah, I don't know why the RUINED it more though. I guess they wanted our characters to look like zombies? O_o.

In humans, the effect is not as much noticeable. The skin got a little darker and even more darker around the eyes. But with elves, at least, it definitely did not work.

MoTB made things worse, but I can't understand why everyone keeps using ugly heads if this is so easy to fix.

While many players (at least elven players) can already be adapted to this appearance, I do believe the change would be for the best, so why couldn't it be done?

If you think the new heads are better, export your character and use the override file to see the difference it makes.

Right now, I am playing the MotB campaign with a sun elf. Later, I will post how it looks when I use override and when I do not use.

A paper bag would not fix the problem...
