I know at one time Sundren had an active DM that handled custom items and the like. I believe that particular option is now defunct on the server, but I may be incorrect.

I think it would be great to see characters with more custom items that might add a little bit of flavor and individuality to the characters. I'm not implying +5 Holy Avengers of Wounding/Vorpal, but simply perhaps +1/+2 enchanted weapons that perhaps have a different graphic than the ones currently able to be accessed in the game.

Perhaps these could be reward items for RP'ing above and beyond, or rewards at the end of epic DM quests and such?

I like that idea - maybe stuff with some unique descriptions. Good stuff to use for RP tools.

Other than that, the DM's are doing a great job IMO. Keep up the good work!
          Amen, brother!

Also, I'd like to see more complete story archs, rather than just little tidbits of saving a bleeding wolf or rescuing an old lady. Have developing story-lines.

Of course, the tricky part is not being too exclusive, but leaving it totally open could be chaotic and hard to organize.

In regards to what Cadmus said about fashion. On the last server I played on they had a plug in, you could change your item appearance to anything and any color allowed by the toolset. I would bet the devs know what I'm talking about. Has anyone considered that? Personally I hate everyone having the same armor, same cape, ect.

Wow, I've never head of that plug in that was mentioned. I would love to give Igneous' equipment a more unique look to it. Currently, his stuff looks just like Karthus' stuff, and that just annoys him =P

I've seen that plug in you're talking about and it seems to work really well. While I think it would be great for everyone to have custom looking equipment (honestly what haberdasher, smith, or seamstress is going to make the exact same thing over and over and over and over again?) I think that it should be disabled for some things such as the armors that are commonly found (like the Savage Plate) because depending how you alter it, it could be very unrealistic, how can you strip it down to a large metal arm gauntlet and chest straps with a barbarian look and still think it's going to offer 9 ac (It's +1 full plate I think) that the normal does with full covering? Maybe a special shop could be created where the things you buy inside are the only items that are able to be customized, and if you make all the items only in their basic form (no bonuses/enchantments, etc.) then people would have to seek out someone who can craft magical arms and armor to enchant it for them, which could be an interesting role play aspect, if they want any bonuses on it.

I'll reckon it's probably just my bad luck that everyone wants to host an event when I'm about to log off
So if the DM's could find me some better luck that would be great

And I know they're in the works but joinable factions, I was told that this also needs DM's to control them.

                        So Luck and Faction control

... mostly faction control, guess I'm off to find my own luck....

I had my first experience of a DM led roleplaying and such. It was incredibly engaging and gratifying. There was a bunch of us (6 characters) who didn't know each other but were brought together in one party to go figure out a diabolical plot and try to capture an evil cleric for questioning.

Two things made it kind of disappointing, though. Dare I say we never got any experience for the thing, though it took all of us putting in effort for close to two hours. I'm not an XP grubber, but it is nice to be rewarded for figuring things out, good roleplay, cooperation, and accomplishing tasks -- even if the reward is minimal. I also believe that this is part of what, realistically, makes a character become stronger. The second disappointment, though understandable, was that the DM disappeared just at the climax of the plot, which left us suddenly without any resolution to what had been built up for that long. I of course recognize that the DMs have lives, and sometimes have to go, so I don't begrudge him/her for that. Some closure might have been provided though.

Overall, I'd say that the plots the DMs put effort into creating have been by far the most fun -- bringing the whole NWN2 experience to a new level. Kudos to them for that.

That's kind of what I was referencing because it's a really cool looking plate, and I like it, but something seems wrong about wearing plate like that and having it provide a normal full plate bonus especially when it becomes +1 or +2, I mean theres a giant 'gaping hole', essentially, in the abdomen compared to what the plate normally looks like. That would be kind of like if I was a soldier and I decided to wear a bullet proof helmet, thigh guards, side guards, and arm guards, but left the vest at home, and expected to be just as well protected as everyone else. That was just my opinion, if they ever decide to implement a system of that kind, and it's easier for them to do so by allowing any item to have it's appearance changed than only certain items, then that's still a lot cooler than not having the option. On a final note, I don't know what the DM's currently have planned for the crafting system, but maybe if instead of using a system were anyone can change their gear on their own, they should make it so a player who knows how to work with that kind of item has to do it for someone (maybe using the craft armor, craft weapon skills, have access to certain designs based on your skill rank, that kind of thing.) Just Ideas, it's not even a big deal to me, I just think it would be cool for role play if we had to use other players to get custom stuff, it could promote a lot of player interactions, more crafter guilds could be formed, etc.

I believe I know the item appearance changer that you speak of and if memory serves me changing the appearance requires skill and gold to do. And if not is easily modified to require them.

I do like item appearance changes.

I would like to see some more sporadic events. This might just be my bad luck, but I've been in parties with four or five people, and have two dm's on, and with about 10 other people online too. I'm not sure if they just got to the DM's first, or if it was about being low level or something. But I have yet to play in a single DM event, and I think it just might be on account of bad luck. but just saying.
