  • Rainy Enough For Ya?

It seems to rain in Sundren more often than not. I just wonder (because I actually don't know) if the incessant rain bogs down the server at all?

Now I am not one to question the divine creators governing Sundren (and am appreciative of all the work they do). In fact, I really like the realism that the weather adds to play, I just wonder if it might be best to dial down the rain to 25% if it does slow things down a bit.

And if you think I'm just being complainy about the weather, believe me that I would readily welcome rain in the stead of the actual weather where I am: current temperature here in Minnesota is -8 degrees (-19 with windchill).

All in all, just a thought. I've been having a lot of fun in Sundren and appreciate all the hardwork, thought and inspiration that goes into it -- primarily by the DMs, but by the players as well.

This has been brought up already many times... please use search.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

After searching (though not to the point of pulling my hair out in frusteration), I have been unable to find the answer to his question. It has been said that Sundren is supposed to have lots of rain due to its geographical statistics, but does I can't find a post where it states whether or not this actually reduces server performance.

It doesn't, server-side performance isn't affected at all. The only thing some players might get is graphical lag, which if you lag from something like rain -- you shouldn't be running your settings that high anyway.
