  • Maximum Level

I looked in the FAQ and around some of the forums, but I'm also aware that there was a recent change, and probably not as much of a recent post to explain it.

I'm currently at my maximum level, which is six, and I had thought that the maximum level was automatically set at eight. Is this some kind of unique punishment due to a misconception that I'm grinding? Or is this a server-wide alteration? Regardless of whichever it is, how long is one capped at their maximum level? Is it set to a timer, and when its done, I can go back to gaining experience, or is it based on DM approval?

Also, after passing my maximum level, does my new maximum level become the one directly after, or is there a gap between restrictions?

    Thanks, and stuff.

The maximum level has been adjusted to clamp down on grinding. If you can't get anymore XP then you're levelling faster than we want you to, at least from monsters. You will still receive XP as per normal from DMs.

We don't tell people how long it takes before it increases, nor any of the math involved for obvious reasons. It is based on the age (realtime) of your character, NOT how long you have been playing. It will change retroactively as you play.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
