    Potion Crafting

    Um... I have just been trying out the potion crafting system and something seems a little bit odd.

    From the church of Helm you can buy a potion of cure moderate for around about 50 gold. I tried crafting a cure moderate potion with 301 gold and the system told me I did not have enough gold.

    I would have thought potion crafting with at worst cost the same as buying one in a shop, at best it might be a few gold cheaper.

    Is this some sort of system to prevent the crafting of potions? If so fine I'm sure there is something somewhere I have not read.

    As a footnote I tried with a cure light wounds potion (shop cost 16 gold) and found that it cost 250 gold to create. This equates to approximately 15 times the price.

      It does say in the feat discription that it costs hundereds of gold to make even level one potions. You now see why Takhla did not take it

        Bad news for you Janus... but ah... you can't actually make cure critical wounds potions to my knowledge (Saulus may have changed this, though thus far I have found he has changed little in the way of wandcrafting, and evidently not for cure light wounds potions).

        May I suggest the "Find Traps" potion, when the new random trap locations come into play?

        Oh, there was a post with all the OC crafting costs... you might want to have a look at that

        btw, it's not metagaming if you have huge lore!

            Pointless now? Yes, Later, no. Remember they are going to redo the crafting system. Plus you can use the feat for rp purposes, just get in contact with a dm with your idea

              Meh, and remember, not all potions are sold in stores, so, some might come in use.

                  Pointless feat? No way! Tons of potions you can brew you can't find in shops. Good ones too.
