I think my no brainer, easy solution got lost in the debate about forcing people to see spells their way and discusions about DarkSun.

The solution is local client side. No reason to force everyone to your way of thinking. Everyone can have things as they want. I'm always against it when the few want to force their will upon the many.

There are two override haks that I've been using for so long I assumed that everyone did. Together they both make Buffs less annoying while making spell effects more beautiful and speeding up frame rates.

Tired of the "buff ball" graphics? They obstruct your view, and also reduce your framerate.
This mod doesn't remove them entirely - it simply tones them down. You'll still see an indication that the spell is on, but you don't have to give up drive cam mode for lack of visibility.

Light Emitter in Spell Effects
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view...s.Detail&id=19
This VFX pack modifies certain spells within the game, allowing them to emit actual light as opposed to a non-light emitting glow effect. I always found it odd that several types of spells that you would think would emit light (like a fireball spell, or lightning, or magic missle, etc) do not. This VFX pack is my attempt to correct that, and in a manner that has the least performance impact, while preserving a realistic look to suit the spell effect modified.

I personally think the version of Mirror Image is cool. But too annoying to see around. So I get rid of it by. Deleting the file in the override.

Sneaky. Is there a file actually called MirrorImageFX or something?

LOL.
Yes, you can just delet that file and go back to the NWN2's version.

If both haks where part of the Sunder client installer. It would solve much of the issue of Buff Lag at large events. Believe me these Haks are beautiful AND speed up frame rates around spell effects.
The Size of both Haks is under 800k. Would be so easy to sneak into the Sundren Installer.
With the edit to fix Mirror Image.
