While you can grind to your hearts content, and dash'n'grab boss loot, its really very bad form to do it when you are high level and there is a low level party in the area. Its especially bad if you run right past them to trash the boss that the lowbies are trying their best to fight their way through to.
Please dont do it, there will be temp. bans and xp loss if theres repeat offenders

I would like to add a humble request here also, if I may Aux...would people please pick up the loot from what they kill? I'm seeing dozens of glowy loot bags left over from dead goblins in the starter areas, and much as I enjoy having the extra free loot from the scavenging, it's not good to add the extra load onto the server...and it doesn't take long to loot them, honest.

    Thankee.

I'm afraid not everyone can spare the extra room in their pack to be carrying random goblin meat... especially if its a low str char, you need to be quite selective.

Yep the 0gp loot wieghs too much.

Also often empty bags still lie there glowing. Probably a script to clean up the loot but that method leaves an empty loot bag. Another server switched to not using loot bags and using the corpses of the monsters instead and it worked better. As the corpses would dissapear after 10 minutes cleaning the server. Some reason that doesn't work with the loot bags. Also loot corpses just look way sweeter. And no, they do not add more lag to the server, as a container is a container. Remember graphics are local.

Something not all may know, regarding the goblin meat...each piece is worth 6gp if you cook it at a campfire, so it's not exactly 0gp loot.

It's been said before by GBX that the loot-cleaning scripts work very well, and that no lag is being produced because of leftovers on the ground. DMs even have a command they can use to wipe an area clean on a whim.

And yes, it's happened to me many times, if you stumble into a lower level party of adventurers, by the gods stop and interact with them, they are the one that are supposed to be there, not you! Being Evil or whatnot gives you no excuse to be a total jerk OOCly when it comes to encounters and loot!

Meh, yeah, Its a bit annoying when that level six runs past all the level 3's straight into the cave in Sharahan Hills.

I know people need extra gold now and then, (I've went and killed weaker bosses and monsters myself.) but farming while there are other people there who should acutally be there is bad.

I remember on some servers in nwn1 there were level restrictions placed on caves. While I know that restricting areas based on level isn't in true RP spirit. Could be a possibility if high level farming starts to become an issue.

Yeah its a real Piss off at level 3 in the hills when your party cant find any action cause theres a level 6+ hangin out killing goblins for the 0xp. Seen this WAY too many times.

You know whats also a piss off? When your in a fight and its especially challenging and someone runs up and attracts more monsters, then runs away, totally on purpose. If it was'nt for alignment conflicts we would cut said person down right then and there.

Not sure if I just hate people who liter or seeing trash on the ground...I generally pick up the lewts that people don't bother to just to clean it up. Gloves, boots, +1 thieve's tools, and outfits...but unless I have the room for it, half-plate and towershields, oi. That gets heavy fast.

Then I'll put them in the local trash bin or place them neatly near one in case someone actually wants to outfit their hero with some new threads.

...as for watching a group of players or high level breeze past us and skip to the boss? I can't believe how pissed off I was to see that the 2nd time it happened by the same group of people.

Common courtesy, you see a bunch of people already in an area...ask if they need help and/or just walk away. There's plenty of other places to go especially if it's a boss drop.

As an aside, please don't jump into every fight assuming your help is needed and/or wanted. I prefer to party, but sometimes I don't find anyone and strike out solo. When I do, it takes a bit of work to arrange for one-on-one fights where my low level dex character can utilize parry effectively. It isn't fun to have people constantly "saving" my character from the XP I was about to earn. Let me finish what I'm doing (or ask if I need help), and then we can talk.

At the very least, if you're going to be rude enough to jump into the fight, toss me a party invite so I at least get some of the XP I had been working towards getting. It's immensely frustrating to have wandering 'heroes' come through, kill steal, and keep walking without having any intention of partying.

I get peed by this behavior too, especially when I'm trying out a new char. They say lvls don't count but you be surprised by how many treat you differently because your a low lvl. It makes me really want to get one of my alts and go an thump em hard, but I don't as that would be classed a Metagaming and really petty, so I bite my tongue smile and keep my eye out

I also know this to happen to someone who recently rolled a new char, so its not just me they don't like

To be fair, treating weak characters as...well, weak, makes sense in rp terms. If you were an almighty warrior you probably wouldn't want to be bothering with keeping an eye on the new guy the whole time. Unless you were a Good character, but there don't seem to be very many of those on Sundren as far as I can tell
On the other hand, this does make the server unattractive to new players. Overall, I think perhaps older players should try and be a bit more easy about letting newbies fight with them, for the sake of the server more than anything else.

This seems to be happening more and more (or maybe I'm just seeing more of it having gone from playing a high level character to being a lowbie again). Running past a group without RPing and then killing everything ahead of them just ain't cool folks! Just had it happen before the reboot and I'm not a happy chappy (though somehow I suspect those responsible probably don't read the forums). Additionally, a new player I was partyed with (who's a good RPer that recently came from another server) was unimpressed enough with the behaviour that he mightn't play here anymore... this stuff is bad for Sundren as well as being rude.
