  • Question for people with good FR Lore

I have a char called Tim who is a worshiper of Torm, but he is no Paladin. Now I've read the wiki (Torm) and based Tims early life as one of the children from Tantras, who was raised by an wee old wizard.

Now the questions would like to ask are as follows :-

    1) Is my understanding that the Avatar Crisis was only (roughly) 25yrs ago?

    2) Could you give me some information on the Martyr's Progeny, or alternatively point me in the general direction for such. (I have searched google and such and no joy, I have a few pdf's but not read them all.. .so a title would be of great help)

Yes, avatar crisis or "Time of Troubles" wasn't that long ago. 25 years or so is about right.

The children, I'm not sure where you would find extra information. What specifically are you looking for?

Just a general paint brush of what they are... The wiki hints at special traites... So I was wondering how best to interpret this without going down a Paladin route. What makes these children stand out from other Torm worshippers...

I'd say, off the top of my head, this was left in for DM story use. Remember, most information is to give DMs stuff to work with for plot devices, not for people to read and be entertained In other words "Here DMs, a bunch of kids with special abilities that fit lore, have fun!"

No not what I meant.. Coulda wrote it better, What I meant was .. erm.. like mental states.. Like being exceptionally zealous or offering up prayers more so than Clerics or Paladins because of a bond or such.

I just dont want to get into a Rp line where I say he is Martyr's Progeny adn then get quzzied by people and feel like a dumb bugger

From what I read, it depends on the kid. They're normal kids that people take care of cause of what happened, and some got a few benefits from what happened. Other are just normal Joe Shmoes.

The Avatar Crisis happened 14 years ago (1358. Current year, 1372)

The Martyr's Progeny are all wards of the Church of Torm. They're the (as you know) children of those who sacrificed their lives to Torm so that Torm could defeat Bane. As wards of the church, they have an open access to becoming members of the clergy, and yes, some have manifested abilities linked to Duty, Honor, Courage, and so on.

Being a Martyr's Progeny would be an EXCELLENT reason for why someone has manifested Favored Soul abilities. Many of them also undergo clerical, paladinic, and divine champion style training. Those professions come naturally to these children.

I like saying Tim of Torm, though otherwise I'm of no use here.
                    Names Taallic.
