With weapon focus, I always just do the main hand one when dual wielding - it allows for flexibility as to what I want with my off-hand.

That's what I'm going to do. My char is finally planned at least until lvl 8 that gives me about 3 months of play without needing to worry much about builds again.

After reading an article about pirates I made a character with a similar background for the original NWN. One thing I took from the article was that most seafarers used short weapons such as daggers, clubs, cutlasses etc. because of the amout of rigging on a ship prevented them swinging longswords and the like, hence I opted for dual-wielding shortswords.
And as has been said, they didn't wear armour so my char was a Dex based meleer (it also meant he wasn't too bad with a bow). so Weapon Finesse and maxed tumble were a must.

Not going to do the short sword dual wield char, there's to much of that already in Sundren...
But now that I got a magical dagger from the goblin's big kahuna I don't know if I should stay with kukri or change to dagger. Is there a big difference between them?Jonathan Portnoy - A pirate's life fer me ARRR

A kukri crits on 18-20, a dagger crits on 19-20... otherwise they're the same.Originally posted by Lord Osadam View PostNot going to do the short sword dual wield char, there's to much of that already in Sundren...

An exotic weapons feat, I believe. The kukri looks really cool, too. (I believe it also have a more favorable range for criticals, someone can correct me if I'm wrong).Originally posted by Lord Osadam View PostNot going to do the short sword dual wield char, there's to much of that already in Sundren...

There are magical Kukri drops <_< >_> Slightly harder to get to than goblin boss, but it's there ^_^ I specialized my rogue in that intial opener and don't even have 2h weapon feats. Just put mad feats into skill focusing stealth, and then went 1h dagger. I know up, if it gets ya, that's that
