  • Monk orders?

Wondering if anyone knows what monk orders are out there in Faerun.
Sacrifice everything as the final darkness falls... in the end, all that awaits you is death. Only then will you understand - you've been following in my footsteps all along.
So come then, you heroes! Come in all your power and glory! For in the final hour, all must serve the one... true... king.

Long Death, Yellow Rose, Broken Ones, Shining Hands, Hin Fist, Old Order, Sun Soul, Dark Moon. Those are the eight largest monastic orders in Faerun.
    Active
Reinamar Stormseeker - The bladestorm that must turn back the wind. Arkerym of The People, practitioner of the forgotten art, pariah.

Tyler Penleigh - Obligatory author insert, Red Blade Defender, sarcastic jerk, caring brother, loving fiancé, war criminal.

    Retired/Dead
Eirimil Gaelazair (Dead)- Bitter. Caustic. Abrasive. Egocentric. Probably right. Found dead in the burned-out Viridale forest a few weeks after the survivors were able to sweep the area after the Bloodmaim offensive. Aside from his usual attire, an intricate music box was the only thing in his possession.

In case you wanted to know, Sundren will be implementing Sun Soul monks in Sestra, dedicated to Sune.

"The monks are loosely affiliated with the faiths of Lathander, Sel?ne, and Sune, and they share many common concerns with those churches. Staunch opponents of darkness, evil, and chaos, the Sun Soul monks serve as crusaders against churches of evil deities, defenders of the common folk, and protectors of sites sacred to deities of light and good." - http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x...050601a&page=4

Hmm, that makes no sense, seeing as Sune Has CG, CN, NE, and LG Followers (Only for Paladins..) I don't think i've missed any other alignments, but I sure as heck never saw a Lawful alignment for anything other then pallys. I take it multiclass as a Pally?

Tch, anyways, You must be this alignment to follow this god sounds quite stupid IMO. Unless of course, your CE and worshipping Tyr..

Undeadsteak, you really love to whine sometimes. But I'll explain.

Since a cleric SHOULD share the views of their god with little deviation, then they should be within range of their god's alignment. If they DIDN'T set this rule, imagine how horrible the RP would be with C/E Tormite priests.

If you aren't a cleric, you can be ANY alignment and worship ANY god. It's the CLERICS who have to serve with alignment restrictions. You can make a C/E Barbarian of Torm. Priests, however, should be so ingrained with their god that they have to be of an alignment, otherwise their god gets displeased with them, they become heretics, etc. Divine champions, same thing.

Well think of it like this: A C/E barbarian of Torm can serve Torm by following one aspect that Torm preaches to such an extent that he is chaotic and ruthless about it. Does it make him good for following a good deity? Nope, he can still be wtf-evil if his actions are evil.
