  • Updates and Sundren Updater problems

First question is pretty easy. Is there any area on the server that lists the current .hak file to use?

The second question ties into the first. When will the updater be fixed so that it will run consistently?

I have tried to log in today and it says I am missing ver 15 of the .hak file, and sure enough it is not on my system. The first 3 tries to run the update all ended with update successful, with no files, or simply started NWN2. This is also burdensome, as when the updater does not find the necessary files, you have to wait until the game loads to exit.

I did find a forum entry a ways back that stated to delete the sundren.ver and sundren.state files from the NWN2 directory. I have done that 3 times already and only succeeded in downloading the entire set of first updated files, but not the new .hak file.

Surely something can be done to elimininate both the faulty update process and the burdensome loading of NWN2 when it "thinks" that all the files are current.

Needlessly to say, this is all very maddening.

Well the server is beta so this is to be expected, second there is an option to disable NWN2 starting on the under options itself.

If you've deleted sundren.state and sundren.ver and ran the updater and you still get a missing hak error (and the updater connected with the server properly, if not check your firewall) then you most likely changed the default directory for the files to go to.

The fact that a few dozen people have been on the server since last night's update already proves the system is working fine and you have some kind of localized issue.

And if that still doesn't work depending on when you downloaded the updater, if it was longer than a month ago, get the newest version on our downloads section.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

And there's a setting in the updater to not launch the game.

      Worth repeating.
