Question regarding the Sundren law about familiars

• Regarding Magical Presences and Domesticated Wild Animals

Domesticated wild animals sometimes accompany visitors and adventurers. They, however, still remain a threat or source of fright to townsfolk. In all of Sundren, domesticated wild animals, unless properly caged or leashed, are allowed only by town gates or entrances. Magical presences are defined as creatures, beings, familiars, or presences bound to an individual by means of magic or of otherwise unnatural origins. Many magical presences are outlandish and bizarre in appearance or behaviour, and it is therefore unlawful to have deviant magical presences in town in all of Sundren unless approved by the local or State government for the purpose of research, exhibit, or emergencies.

I intended to walk around the city with my cat Beryl... considering that it isn't written on their forehead that a cat familiar (or bunnies or..) is a magical beast, would he be classed amongst "domesticated wild animals" ? Is the Sundren militia actively hunting magical bunnies in the city? :P

Yay! Thanks... possessing a familiar and interacting with it is one of the biggest perks of playing a wizzie/sorcerer, in my opinion. :P

Giant spiders, boar, bears, beholder-kin, imps, mephits and spiderpigs etc on the other hand wouldnt be.

I really wish theyd implement normal dogs as a familiar/pet... mans best friend and all that, but no we get cats.. damn cats..

I'm assuming a wolf would be a no-go? That's on the hairy edge of domesticated. Canine, yes...but of the wild variety.

Someone with common sense wouldn't mind a wizard strolling around with a cat, but those Helm people are far more serious about upholding these laws than gnomes are.
