"Required Expansion Pack Missing"

Hello,

Posting here with a request for some help in getting Sundren to load successfully on my system.

Now, I did do a search. And I did an advanced search. And both came back with 0 results.. so.. please.. spare my head

When I try to run the game, have put in the correct direct connect address, etc... I get the following error:



Now... My first thought was "maybe I need to get the expansion pack to play on Sundren?" Which would kinda suck... but.. it's a possibility I suppose.

That said, I have downloaded and run the Sundren updater.. It's downloaded everything and I tested this by closing out of the game and running the updater again. It briefly shows the update screen then directly starts up the game. I assume that means everything I need for the PW is on my system.

Then I saw a post mentioning something about Obsidian dropping the ball on a patch and that re-installing the game was required to fix it.

So.. just to try.. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. I have updated the patcher - but not the game. Reason being, the patcher pretty much goes into auto-mode and just keeps going through the various versions 'til the game is up to date. I don't know exactly at what point to stop since I don't know what exact version Sundren requires versus what the patcher stops at.

Or... is there some other trick to use to get past this?

You need the Mask of the Betrayer expansion pack.

Heh. At the top of the forum pages it doesn't, which is where I got the link for the download and the direct connect info.

But it is all over the News. And the name of the Server is "Sundren MoTB" in gamespy.

Seeing as you want to make smart ass remarks... I'll point out when you get the message "REQUIRED EXPANSION PACK MISSING", and then you say "I probably don't have the expansion pack" ... We'll that's like putting two and two together and forgetting the answer is four.
