New classes

So, when Sundren becomes MotBified, people are going to want to play the new classes right? But which are you looking forward to?

I would quite like to take my Druid down the Stormlord path but fear he will be lost in a sea of identikits.

So what are people thinking of playing..?

Although I won't be using any of the new classes on my character, I'd have to say I like stormlord the best. Don't worry, I won't copy you sparkeh

If I go for one of the new classes, it'll be the spirit shaman as this class offers a lot of RP potential.
Another option I've been considering is playing a thayan wizard and taking the red wizard PrC.

I must say, I like the whole wizard of Thay and all the new classes. But I must say, I think they needed to add one of the classes such as Haxblade and Spellthief. But I am really happy with the selection .

Talos's clerics can be any evil alignment and druids count among his followers.
Stormlords dont have to be followers of Talos though. Alternatives are Akadi and Auril... maybe even get away with a militant follower of Silvanus, or Shaundakul, then theres clerics of Valkur. All have the necessary domains i think.

Edit: Just to add, wont we be going down the same old route as we do with warlocks and tieflings when it comes to Red Wizards... a universally untrusted bunch who's society has a reputation for oppression, slavery, and to some extent- magic fascism. Not that im complaining, id like to play one of the crafty buggers, but i think that Red Wizard characters should be DM approved unless they are welcome in Sundren... then if they are welcome they should also have their own Enclave, as is their way. IRRC they dont like Banites and Zhentarim either, which is nice.

Just read through the new prestige class details... and now I've got the fear! Are there going to be dozens of Stormlords running hither and thither across Sundren?... At first I thought it could only be taken at epic levels, then I looked again! Eeek!

Anyways, the only one I would probably be interested in is the Red Wizard, always thought they were cool (but I've already got a mage character, so that won't happen).

Just so you all know, Red Wizard of Thay will go down the same path as Shadow Thief of Amn and will be moderated. If you get either of those PrCs, you will have impressed the DMs significantly; as well as gained the attention of a few NPCs.

Other classes will also have restrictions on them. The team is currently discussing which avenues we wish to take regarding all the new races, classes and epic levels which are introduced in Mask of the Betrayer.

As Echelon mentioned most of the new classes will be moderated. One of them I can guarantee is Red Wizard. It won't be very common to ever see anyone with this class.

Sooo, I hadn't thought about the Stormlord alignment. I guess the deity restriction will be reintroduced - as of course in the OC the deity requirement was dropped.

Well if I were to pick any of those new classes. I would go with Red Wizard First, Favored Soul second.
