  • The Forest of Eternal Night and You

I must clarify this, as the issue has become pertinent of late.

When you go to the Forest of Eternal Night/The Fugue Plane and are then raised/ressurrected/respawn, you do not remember any occurances, conversations, or purple elephants that you encounter whilst up there. That is your soul/spirit, not your physical person, and does not have a memory of that place.
That said, it is still an in-character area and should be treated as such. Any knowledge garnered from your time in the Forest and used on the physical plane will result in me breathing down your neck.

Again; you do not remember anything that is said or happens in the Forest of Eternal Night.

Also dont you not remember what happened a hour previous to your death?
Sacrifice everything as the final darkness falls... in the end, all that awaits you is death. Only then will you understand - you've been following in my footsteps all along.
So come then, you heroes! Come in all your power and glory! For in the final hour, all must serve the one... true... king.

A good point, and I thank you for bringing it up. My ruling on this varies dependant on the means on which you are returned to the living.

      Resurrection: 5 minutes, real-time.
      Raise Dead: 10 minutes, real-time.
      Respawn: 15 minutes, real-time.

This is to ensure that people who want to assassinate others or murder them can do so with relative ease if they are quick and efficient; among other things.
Also note that this 'time-limit' applies to both PvP and non-PvP deaths.

Yeps much better than an hour...that would just be confusing. What if you had met someone and rp'ed with them for a little less than an hour..you would have to completely forget that person. Usually when I respawn I dont rejoin the fight anyways...unless the whole party dies and goes back. Which would work fine since we would all be clueless together :P

While I agree in general with not remembering the immediate circumstances of your death, your character can certainly make logical conclusions. Take for example the recent incident with my character where I appear to have accidently been caught up in someone else's fight.

My character certainly didn't think he was dead yet he knows the likely circumstances of his death...he saw the two groups fight. He saw one group get annihilated and he saw the other group turn and run at him with swords drawn. 1+1=2. He DOESN"T know which person in the other group swung their sword first or who landed the killing blow.
James Leith - Gone home to the Isles
            Iefan Gwyllym - Newly arrived!
