  • Feedback Request - Loot Tables

I know every type of green item isn't dropping yet (Still coming up with item property names and such for the table so belts, shields, etc drop). I also know books aren't dropping yet. However, I am curious what people feel is really missing?

Also, I want to know how people feel about the wealth acquired. Do you feel you are getting rich too quick? Too slowly?

I think the actual money is fine. I would like to see more potions drop, specifically heal pot (I'm particularly squishy)

Do others feel the rate of heal drops is low?

A bit, but I don't go out all that much. I would like to see some specific skill items though, boots with +hide and stuff like that Maybe some items which add social skills (jewelry is nifty for that ). Would be fun

One thing I've noticed is the drop rate of useless items is very high (empty bottles, normal clothing that characters would start out with, lots of thieves tools, lots of weapon ammo - smiths wont buy it, and where smiths are concerned, a LARGE amount of items that drop are worth zero which means wasted inventory on the way to sell it) and I've also noticed the drop rate of scrolls seems pretty high in comparison to other items. Every useful item I have I had to purchase after selling 50 other items that were useless to me and that includes having to buy heal kits, potions, and gear.

Those are planned to go in. They generally will have names like "of Burglary" for rogue-like skills "of Blahblahblah" for blah blah blah.

Right now, eventually getting something other then minor enchanted (+1) items being sold would be marvelous.
As to these greens, I don't know about anyone else, but the only use I'm finding people have for them is to sell for 2000 gold. (Who needs a weapon that gives you +2 to concentration and 1 point of extra damamge when you can purchase a +1 enchated weapon?)
Most of the time I think they are being 'farmed' byt the players who just go out and kill.

This is kind of a shame though.

The selling for huge coin was an oversight and I believe the shops are fixed now not to pay so much for them. When I created the green item tables I imagined them being sold for 100 - 500 coins. 2000 for a concentration / damage item is uncanny.

I have only found one green item so far and can't really tell where the green items drop... of course, if I could get over level three I could probably head out into the more dangerous area by the forest...

The blacksmith is not fixed! The green weapons still sell for 2000 gp there.

It will be fixed tonight. Apparently a memo I passed got missed. Every merchant was updated except that one.

It is also possible to sell rings there, currently.

I'd say the wealth is a bit high right now, but perhaps that's just me.

As for drops; boots and gloves are missing right now.

And as someone else has already said the number of outfits and useless items is rather high.

It is realistic for some crap items (basic clothing and such) to be on dead enemies, as is the fact that the leaders (Clerics of Bane) usually have the better items, but isn't it also realistic for the archers/slingers to somewhat consistently drop ammo, and the defenders to drop weapons (even basic ones that are practically worthless)

Wouldn't you think that a helmet would give you +1AC? (i understand the concentration bonus, but a helmet logically is extra armor)

However, useful boots/gloves/belts are really the only thing thats missing.
Heh, i guess my characters are deleted, now. Updating char list soon!

I think you should contemplate adding more useless items to the loot tables, but useless items that would make a little sense and be worth something trading. Say, you find a few silver goblets in an orc encampment known for raiding, and you manage to sell them to the merchants for a fair share of gold?

I always liked realistic loot, it actually leads to realistic-sounding stories of adventure. Maybe it's already been suggested, though, I haven't read the entire thread. Sorry? Heh.
