Well, I need some help with the performance of my NWN2, let's start giving a view to the whole System :

Well, InGame I have all the special effects OFF and all the textures on LOW. I have followed the guide posted of McGnome for better performance and low crashes.

But I still having a poor performance on the game, in some cases, the sound starts to slow, or a speaker don't response for a while, like: "Foooooooooo o o o o llowwww mmmm eeeee eeee *sparkles sound*"
And I can't go faster when we have a party of a lot of people (Read 4)

And considering the possibility of changing in a one step the sound card (I have a Realtek Integrated AC'97) and the video card for a 512 Mb card (VGA 512MB PCI-E GFORCE 8500 GT)...

Anyone thinks this is a good idea? Or have any suggestion to better my performance?

Find the maximum supported cpu for your motherboard. A 4200+ is cheap at the moment. As for your graphics card, those things are pretty pricey. I could personally recommend (if your budget is low) finding a 7900GTO. As for the sound card, the one you have should do well enough. See about getting new drivers for it.

I disabled it.

Anyway I will change the SoundCard because is not only on the NWN2 who was bad, also on NWN1 and HL2. Im going also to buy a new VideoCard. In that I spent U$S 145, but in my country it's $465, and it's $135 down of the minimum salary, and buying the 4200+ represents me another U$S 113.60 = $364.65, and I don't know If I change the processor, I must format the HD.
So, Im going to improve this minimum things and see, If the performance don't improve... Im going to buy it.

Maybe, specially this game needs more room to move widely. The minimum = low quality
