This is exactly what Im doing.. taking a break.. Once the expansion comes out or actualy right before it comes out I'll probably play the single player again ,then the expansion. After that I may join back in the Sundren World with some of you jerks.

In due time I am sure that Obsidian will have all the stability issues iron out, especially since we have got an upcoming patch dedicated to multiplayer.

1.07 is not dedicated to multiplayer. It was mainly stealth and DM client related things.

Basically, people forget that PW is a small % of the actual game sales. While we are all people playing PWs, marketting realizes Single Player makes them more money, so most fixes will be for Single Player which is Atari's call. Obsidian, however, has not forgotten us either as we still pay part of their bills. I've been told more than once, PW's will get dedicated time after expansion release, and I'm not talking just bug fixes. The enhancements you can expect for PWs will clobber NWN1.

I have to say, I've been impressed with Obsidian's thinking vs Bioware. Obsidian seems much more willing to do things the community wants. Bioware hasn't changed a whole lot in NWN1 for us. An example of this is functions dedicated to NWNX which speeds up servers and makes plugin development easier. They are listening, Rob even told me they'll probably put in Blackguard spellbooks in distant future. These sort of things make me more willing to put up with issues today for the sake of tomarrow.

And don't cut the expansion short. There may still be some multiplayer stability issues, but things like the graphics engine have gotten updated for it and overall people will have not only better frame rates, but better looking graphics too. New races and creatures coupled with MANY features PWs can take advantage of. For example, I've read that textures on tilesets can be swapped out now. This would make for cool things in area design reusing interiors like caves and crap with different textures.

So yeah, I'm not ready to call NWN2 a flop, far from it. It's just painful right now

Man, Sundren really seems like a great place to play, but there are so many crashes and failed log-ons.

I gather that this is true, generally, of all NWN2 PWs.

I'll try to log on every now and then, but I've just spent 15 minutes logging off/on and crashing for a total of about 1 minute of play.

I hope the expansion fixes some of these issues.

I must log in to see the crashing problems, but I played in this time on 3 PW and I don't have much crashes. Maybe it's the game, maybe the machine, don't let you down for the crashes.

Most of you are probably aware of this thread.

I have heard a lot of people have seen some benefit from these tips.


There's a lot of things we plan on doing with NWN2. I know it is taking a long time for some of these fixes to come out, but we are working hard on them. I know it's hard to have faith sometimes. But, that's what I need to ask of you.

We have received a ton of server and client crash data, so I think we will see some improvements soon (tm).

Though i still think they need to get the NWN1 battle animations.. I really can't stand having a character with a shield and never showing them using it.. they just dodge backwards.. *sighs*

*laughs* Well, the only thing because I still bet for Obsidian, it's because I don't downloaded the game from Inet and pay $100 (Argentinian Pesos, and equivalent of U$S 31.15) to have the possibility of play online, and... yes... Im going to buy Mask of The Betrayer. And we like the animations of NWN1 :[.

Anyone thinks about the error of converting NWN2 to a "sissy" version of NWN1 without underwear? I mean, if your character don't have any clothes, It's not very "convincing" the idea of: "Oooh I don't have a robe or armor, but look, I travel with a commoner cloth fixed to the body!"
