Just to mention, regarding crashing - Sundren crashes my client first time I log in, every time. I connect, select my character, get the load screen for the module, and often get as far as having the popup about 'players are expected to know the rules' and then it bombs out. Every time. It's so consistent I actually set the kettle boiling so I can make coffee while I get booted the first time.

It's the only PW that does this. I re-installed just a couple weeks ago.

You probably need more system memory to handle Sundren's areas.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Same exact thing happens to me, gbx suggested turning down setting to min for logging in that first time, it worked once or twice but still crash when i do that sometimes too. Only happens in that first little area it sends me to before sending me to my last location.

heh I get that too, but I can get back on in a few minutes. Its the vicious crashes that freeze my entire computer that drive me insane. And I tried reinstalling.

Honestly I think something in my computer is still busted and can't handle NWN2 any more.

my game was doing the exact same thing, I had another PWs files on my computer that overrid alot of things, tried to delete them all, no luck. Yesterday i did a full reinstall, and poof, dont happen anymore. That might help some of you, kind of annoying but it worked for me, and only took about 45 minutes so no biggee

Two gigs is ideal. I crash sometimes with two but I wouldn't be surprised if you crash more often with one.

I'm still hurt by the fact that some people can't understand that we're doing all this for the players, to one day be able to sit down, looking at Sundren saying: Hell guys, this was a nice world we made, and it's crash-free and lag-free.

And I seriously don't understand how people can find so many things to complain about. Think about it this way. Everytime you guys feel like playing, that's what it is for us to, but then we can't join you in the fun since we have to fix thigns here and there so the ones we want to play with can have a greater experience. So many times playing has to be put aside for the fact that, at least I, Have something to do in the toolset.

We should create a thread where we flame the players for not letting us play with them..

I promise that if we started playing alot with PC's, they'd complain about we not updating the module

But I want the designers and GM's to play sometimes.

What better way for you all to get first-hand experience with the server and the people. (Just pick a different log-on name) I don't mind any delays if you choose to take a day or an hour just to see what's going on in 'our' end.
What better way to develop the game then to play it?

Yeah, it'd be nice if they played with us sometimes, and i know GBX and Saulus do, but they dont stick around for long. They're pretty busy.

Generally speaking; that's what player feedback (and its area on the forums) is supposed to provide; an actual representation of our experiances on the server.

Continue that, and DM's can simply observe "problem areas" as players go through them. Players don't alter their normal behavior because they don't know that they are being observed, and DM's get an unbiased and actual view of problems, bugs, exploits, game flaws, etc. as they arise and are found.

Sometimes it's better to know what you're looking for, but have someone "blind" to the issue go through the motions to get a better understanding of the problem.
                          Don't run...you'll only die tired.

It's been changing quite a bit since I joined a few months ago - and GBX has never ignored me, despite the fact that I pestered the hell out of him my first day in-world. Same goes for the other DMs that have been on.

I don't think they've lost sight of their players; I think they're just keeping a fair balance in mind. Personally, I was surprised to find my characters gone today, but I just shrugged and remade them (which I wanted to do anyway, to be honest).
