EDIT: Jarlexel checked a character's rep who he hadn't logged in with for a while, and their rep was fine. This is definitely something worth taking note of, since this perhaps points to the issue only affecting certain characters that were logged in after a certain point... If that makes any sense...

I wouldn't mind starting a new character if there was a vault wipe. I liked my characters and I put a lot of time into them. I could get into a new character too though, if there were people to RP with and things to do.

As for factions, there were several characters that did advocate for one city or another. I don't think going in that direction would be a stretch at all.

hey folks, I'm kinda of summer gamming hours ( which means I have no time for it) but I'm hoping that changes now in a week or so this fall. with regards to a server wipe, I'm of two minds...

1 I think a fresh start is sometimes a good thing, makes new fresh start to the server.

2 on the other hand, sundren has for years had a ton of player made lore that has shaped sundren to what it is today. ( not me , but others have made some huge impact on the flow of the story, and it would be a shame to not have those epic ( not meaning levels, but epic in deeds) characters around.

I personaly would love to see a flash forward 10 -20- 30 yrs, it gives the story a kickstart again.

as for char wipe, just a suggestion here. if the server rep system is getting hammered by the shear amount of char. what if we all just chose one ( of our current) chars to carry through instead of turfing them all... in fact it would make sence that any long lived race might carry over a few decades well enough.

If it's a wipe, and I'm not saying it will be, then its better to start everyone off on the same footing. Even more so if there's any rebalancing or changes to maxlevel etc.

Don't worry though, we're well aware that the world has been shaped by the great many hours of effort and RP that our many players and staff have put in. A wipe wouldn't be something done lightly and we wouldn't be looking to screw anyone over by doing it.

Hey for those wanting to keep their toons, could you allow them to rebuild them, do a wipe but allow them to make their toons again with their level and stuff maybe?

Having a window where people could submit brief bio's to have their character's made into prominent NPC's I feel would help this. As well as a place in the history between now and then where they presumably wind down/get hurt/tied up in politics enough that they have to stop adventuring and leave new business to the next generation of adventurers. After purchasing a new computer, I am downloading NWN2 complete from GOG.com. I hope to be in game soon to play whatever remedy the staff elects to pursue.

This list is way too short. I would rather there not be any Character-to-NPC retirements if the vault is wiped. Why? Because it will leave too many folks who have devoted a lot of time to the game out of the picture. Instead, I would rather each player be given the chance to write a bit of background, e.g. lore about their character that "could" be part of the server's history going forward. Granted, no one will see their old toons as NPCs... but their memories will live on in eternity as part of the server's lore.

Well we need a mappers for that, let doubtful do his thing, there are a lot of people without a good server right now, the others in my opinion does not keep people intrested in plots and story as well as this server has done. I for one have been jumping around from the servers trying to find that kind of RP but there is none.

Now, my opinion on the vault wipe thing is that perhaps it would be a great way to revitalize things. And, I think that bringing back a soft cap would be great, because it would keep someone from hitting 20th very quickly, which, I think takes the focus off of building up to being a kick ass adventurer.

Rep seems to be working today, after all. I'll check it again tomorrow, but the pattern seems to be that rep works for characters that are logged in after reset, so perhaps something happens mid day on most days to bork the rep?

I would be down for anything that could help get some good RP back! I am beginning to miss Sundren, that and summer is coming to an end, so most of us will have more time on our hands.
