Can people without the Assassin PrC can commit the occasional murder as long as it is in alignment with their faith and general spec direction, such as deception?
Example:
Bob is an evil sorcerer who is a devout follower of some evil god. He comes across Jane the good cleric who personally cleansed / desecrated a holy site for his deity. Bob decides to try to get back at Jane and when the opportunity arises he murders (fights and kills) her. Not saying perma.
Would Jane's player have a point if she claimed that Bob should have taken a level in Assassin? Even if it isn't compatible with Bob's build?
And what if Bob did this more than once to individuals following gods opposed to his (like the BH and the Triumvirate)? Bearing in mind that the general spec direction has deceptive skills, so not your average frontal combat kind of guy.
Should a character like that take at least one level of Assassin or can their actions be justified in that they serve their god if they RP it right? This is a purely theoretical question, by the way, nothing has provoked it.
