  • Silent Spell Not Working With Bard?

I just picked up silent spell on my bard, and for some reason I can seem to get it to work with my spells. The spell sheet is just blank. Did silent spell get a level conversion increase (It is usually only one level higher) or is something else going on?

What do you mean by "The spell sheet is just blank".
Did you lose all your spells, or is there nothing under the Silent spell tab in the quick-cast menu?
Screenshot would be useful if you can manage one.

    Cheers,
    Kit

Data input insufficient, please provide further information. Sadly I was not a member of US governmental/military esoteric research in the 70s-90s and cannot use my mind to remote view your screen.

As this appears to be a bug report it's really useful to have screenshots, level info, classes, race, spells etc. The more info the better really. This enables us to isolate the issue, duplicate and possibly fix or advise solutions/workrounds. Without sufficient information there's not that much we can do without wasting a lot of precious, precious time.

Sorry it was late and I wasn't all there. I'll go ahead and post under bug reports with the screenshots and relevant info when I get home from work tonight. Feel free to delete the post.

I know that in regular DND and in Pathfinder, bards can NOT use the silent spell feat. It is mentioned in their spell's section of their class that bards must always have a verbal component to their spells, and as such can not take or use the silent spell feat. I suppose this is to reflect that their spells are song based. It's possible that obsidian actually followed suite, and made it so that silent spell does not affect bards. Not 100% sure this is the case, just spitballing here.

Seems to be the case, I had a quick check with Sundren specific and vanilla NWN2 settings and neither worked with silent spell.

I suspect it's an uncommon enough combo to not be worth making 2da changes over in order to disable the feat for bards, just swap it out for another feat in this case and if it should arise again in the future.

I'm glad to hear that you'll at least get it swapped out. The role play implications are intriguing, however.

I think we can all just be happy that the game prevents people from playing magical mimes.
